Apple TV has released the trailer for The Dynasty: UConn Huskies, a new three-part documentary series tracing the improbable rise — and relentless reign — of the University of Connecticut women’s basketball program under Hall of Fame head coach Geno Auriemma. The series premieres globally on Apple TV on Aug. 21. Check out the new trailer below and read on for everything to know about the three-part sports documentary.
What it’s about
The Dynasty: UConn Huskies is a three-part documentary event chronicling the rise of the most dominant program in college basketball history. Featuring exclusive interviews with the 2025 National Championship team and legendary voices spanning generations of UConn basketball, the series explores how a once-overlooked program became a global standard for excellence under Auriemma’s leadership. Through never-before-seen archival footage and intimate access, the series examines the triumphs, pressures, sacrifices, and culture that built a dynasty that continues to shape the game today.
In 1985, the UConn women’s basketball program had just one winning season. The program has since won 12 national championships, more than any other team, men’s or women’s, in NCAA Division I history.
