Netflix’s adult animated comedy lineup has lost another member. Strip Law, the Vegas courtroom comedy from creator Cullen Crawford, will not be returning for a second season.
First revealed to be in development earlier in its production cycle, the series promised a chaotic, rapid-fire approach to the legal procedural format. We later got our first real taste of the madness when Netflix dropped the trailer and first looks, announcing a voice cast that included Joel McHale and Ikechukwu Ufomadu.
Unfortunately, it seems the jury has reached a verdict, and the show’s time on the streamer has come to a premature end.
Series creator Cullen Crawford took to Bluesky to confirm the news directly with fans, expressing gratitude for his team and the viewers who tuned in:
“so they told me theres not going to be anymore strip law at Netflix i really cant be anything but grateful.
at every phase it was made by talented people in pursuit of nothing but pure chaotic delirious joy and im so so proud of it
thank you to everyone who gave it chance”
While the show struggled to find a massive mainstream audience—something we noted in our series review, where we highlighted that the “wild Vegas animated courtroom comedy can’t escape its own bad jokes”—it undeniably had a passionate, distinct creative vision.
Viewership for the show was hard to ascertain, as it failed to appear in any daily top 10s and missed out on any weekly top 10s. The trailer may give us the biggest indication of performance; however, the official trailer has only reached just over 100K views.
In our exclusive interview with Crawford before the cancellation, the creator opened up about the show’s “machine gun jokes,” their dedication to legal parodies, and the firm stance the production took on banning AI. That hands-on, human-first approach is exactly what Crawford celebrated in his farewell post.
But Crawford wasn’t quite finished. Knowing that the story wouldn’t get a proper conclusion on screen, he decided to reward the show’s dedicated Bluesky fanbase with a massive spoiler about where the overarching mystery was heading:

The cancellation of Strip Law adds to a growing list of adult animated series that have struggled to secure long-term futures on Netflix, proving once again how tough it is for new animated IPs to break through the noise. Last year, for example, we learned that Twilight of the Gods, among others, would not be returning. They joined other animated comedies joining the one-season curse, such as Mulligan, Farzar, Agent Elvis, Q-Force, and Chicago Party Aunt.
