The finalists on Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro underwent one last test to earn a spot on Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars, which premieres Tuesday night, Sept. 15. Last week’s two-part challenge was one of The Next Pro’s most demanding. Allen Genkin was eliminated in fourth place, perhaps due only to his first routine where judges Mark Ballas, Shirley Ballas, and guest Kym Johnson thought he failed to use his partner, DWTS pro Witney Carson, to her fullest potential. It was a testament to the strength of those final four that they made it so hard…

Tom Cruise, an all-time great movie star, has never made a movie with Anne Hathaway, one of the most famous and recognizable stars of the past decade. That’s about to change with a somewhat unlikely project: Days of Thunder, which seems to be the title of what’s actually Days of Thunder 2, a sequel to Cruise’s 1990 racecar drama. Of course, Days of Thunder itself once functioned as a de facto sequel, to Cruise’s career-defining 1986 smash Top Gun, before that movie had an official follow-up. Thunder reunited Cruise with the director (Tony Scott), producers (Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson),…

“Business and feelings, they don’t go well in this line of work,” comments a veteran criminologist in the new thriller written and directed by Brando Benetton. It’s the sort of hackneyed observation made by jaded cops since they’ve first been portrayed onscreen, and it’s emblematic of the cornucopia of familiar elements in The Girl in the River. Depicting a murder/kidnapping investigation conducted by the older cop partnered with, you guessed it, a younger rookie colleague, this is a movie you’ll swear you’ve seen before. Devon Sawa (Final Destination) plays the cop, Alan Kramer, whose constant furtive sips from his liquor…

Olivia Rodrigo is having quite the 2026. Already this year, she became the first artist to have the first single from her first three albums debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 with “Drop Dead.” The album featuring that track, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, also topped the charts and remains in the top five almost three months later.
