Just Jared got to sit down with Big Brother season 28 evicted houseguest Kamuela “Kamu” Kirk for an exclusive chat.

We asked him about Frankie Grande, his drama with fellow evicted houseguest Jason De Puy, and more. He confirmed he has reached out to Jason since being evicted, but has not yet heard back.

We asked him a few questions about his time in the Big Brother house.

Just Jared: During one of the live votes, you said, “Frankie Grande, tell your sister to hit me up.” He declined, saying, “Not a f–king chance Kamu. You can eat my ass.” Do you have any sort of response to this? Note: Frankie‘s sister is Ariana Grande.

Kamu Kirk: No, no. When you’re in the house, you don’t know what’s going on outside the house. Unfortunately Frankie Grande I guess is not my biggest fan. I have nothing but respect for Frankie. Season 16 is actually my favorite season of Big Brother and I was a fan of his. So I know he doesn’t like me very much but honestly it’s all love with me to Frankie. It’s nothing but respect from my way to him. Maybe one day we can we can talk and you know, it’d be a pleasure to meet him. I don’t take anything too personally.

Just Jared: [Evicted houseguest] Jason told me that the week he went home he actually felt personally attacked, he felt it was beyond gameplay. You also made comments that some viewed as anti-drag. Did you feel you were personally attacking Jason with any of what went down that week?

KK: No, no I definitely don’t feel like I was personally attacking him. I understand that there are some people who viewed what I did as as being personal, but it was strictly game. I really do like Jason and I actually reached out to Jason and so I’m waiting to hear back you know, if he wants to respond. If he wants to talk, I’d love to have a conversation with him. But it was it’s nothing but respect. Everything that happened was game related. Nothing personal at all on a personal level. I really like Jason. He and I actually had a pretty good friendship in the house before our games clashed. But I wish him nothing but the best

JJ: Can you see his perspective for why he might have felt personally attacked that week?

KK: You know, I could see I could definitely see an argument. I don’t think that Jason is crazy by any means, but from my perspective, it was strictly game. I just felt like he just kept coming after me and I kept hearing from several people that he was saying different things about me to them. So with the tea party, it was simply me just wanting to get everything out in the open where the house could ask me questions in front of everybody. And then, you know, I could call him out and ask him questions in front of everybody as well. It was nothing more than that. It was purely game, but I could see how people may take things personally, but it was, it was never my intention for that to happen.

JJ: Have you seen anything about the fans response to your game?

KK: You know, a little bit, a little bit. So, you know, I haven’t been on social media a ton, but I have seen comments. And of course, you know, you see mixed comments, but, you know, a lot of people have shown me respect for the game that I played, whether they agreed with everything that I did, you know, in and out of the house or whatever. A lot of people have shown me love with the game that I played and they thought that I went in as somebody who tried to play my own game and not let the game play me. So I have received some love in that aspect.

JJ: And you done a few interviews already since leaving the house. Is there anything you feel like you want to address but haven been able to yet or anything you want to clear up?

KK: No, you know, not too much. If anything, I think the only thing that I would say that I’ve seen in comment sections is that people, regarding the comment that I made about about drag, they said nobody ever asked Kamu to wear drag. And so I guess if I were to address anything, I would say that maybe people didn’t see it, but there were several times in the house people asked me to wear drag and to put on dresses. And so I would respectfully say, oh, no, no, it’s cool. It’s cool.

And so I think the clip that was that ended up making the show or whatever with Devens, it was after several requests, you know, that came to me about wearing drag. And so finally, I told Devens, I’m like, man, like miss me with the drag. I just personally don’t feel comfortable doing that. And that was the perspective that I was coming from. I never judged anybody in the house for wearing drag. I never judged Jason. I never came after the community whatsoever. It was just, I want people to respect how I want to dress in the house. And it was, and that was the extent of it. So it was never a personal attack. And if there’s anything that I want to address, it would be that.
