Oprah Winfrey Announces AHA at the Sphere
The 72-year-old media icon announced Oprah Winfrey’s AHA, a new immersive live experience that will take over the Sphere in Las Vegas for one weekend in 2027.
What Is Oprah Winfrey’s AHA?
Oprah will appear live on stage during the two-hour production, which combines music, poetry, storytelling and visual art and features contributions from an impressive group of artists and performers.
When Is Oprah Performing at the Sphere?
Oprah Winfrey’s AHA will take place on April 2, 3 and 4, 2027 at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
The project was inspired by Oprah‘s experience attending U2‘s opening night at the venue back in 2023.
“AHA is a dream that came to me as I sat in awe at the opening night of U2 at the Sphere, mesmerized by the possibilities of how the space could be used as a tool for creating greater awareness and understanding of ourselves and our connection to each other,” Oprah said in a statement.
She added, “Creating this experience has felt like the culmination of what I’ve spoken about and worked towards my entire life.”
Who Is Joining Oprah Winfrey for AHA?
Jacob Collier, poet and author Ocean Vuong, musician Ajeet and gospel singer Wintley Phipps are among the special guests set to participate.
The creative team also includes composer Max Richter, musician and vocal director Jason White, composer and producer Jon Hopkins, Oscar-winning Moonlight screenwriter Tarell Alvin McCraney and artist Es Devlin.
In a new interview, Oprah explained that the project feels particularly meaningful to her at this stage of her life.
“I feel that it is the culmination of everything I’ve tried to say for years,” she told People.
At 72, Oprah said she’s become increasingly conscious about how she chooses to spend her time and what she still wants to accomplish.
“I know there is a finite amount of time left,” she told the outlet, explaining that AHA is something she “deeply, deeply, deeply wanted to do.”
For now, AHA is scheduled as a one-weekend event, though Oprah revealed that it could potentially continue if the initial shows are successful.
“The idea is, if it works, you’ll do more. We’ve been given other dates,” she told People.
