Read on for everything to know about Lucky.
THE PLOT
Here is how Apple describes the show: “When a multimillion-dollar heist goes sideways, con artist Lucky (Taylor-Joy) is forced to go on the run. Pursued by both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss, Lucky must fight for her life — and a way out.”
PREMIERE DATE

Mark your calendars for July 15, as that’s when Lucky premieres globally on the streamer. Subsequent episodes will stream every Wednesday until the Aug. 19 finale. Note that a summer release date means the limited series won’t be Emmy-eligible until 2027 — however, it will compete at the next round of winter awards, including the Golden Globes, Critics Choice, and Actor Awards.
THE CAST

Taylor-Joy leads the star-studded ensemble that also includes five-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening, three-time Emmy nominee Timothy Olyphant, Oscar nominee Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Emmy nominee Clifton Collins Jr., and William Fichtner.
THE TRAILERS
On Feb. 3, Apple TV dropped the first trailer for Lucky, which opens with Taylor-Joy’s character covered in blood after narrowly surviving a car crash. “It’s like anything else,” Lucky says in voice-over. “A series of bad decisions over an extended period of time.” The 51-second video then shows quick cuts of the characters played by Bening, Olyphant, Ellis-Taylor, and Starkey, among others. As a man wonders how someone “so small” can cause “so much trouble,” Lucky lights a car on fire and calmly walks away from the flames.
On June 3, a second trailer was released, and this one was over two minutes long. Olyphant’s character, who is revealed to be Lucky’s father, narrates at the start of the video: “The world’s a complicated place. But I taught you how to survive in the life that you were born into.” Lucky’s response? “I know, Dad. Just thinking I’d like to get out of here alive.” We then see countless amounts of explosion, violence, and high-octane action, before Lucky proudly declares: “I’m done running … from you, from anyone.”
THE CREATIVES
The television adaptation is created by Jonathan Tropper, who serves as one of the showrunners. He also writes and executive produces through his Tropper Ink banner. Cassie Pappas serves as co-showrunner and executive producer. Additional EPs include Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine, Taylor-Joy for LadyKiller, and Jonathan van Tulleken, who directed the pilot.
