Is THIS Why Prince Harry Was Left Off Guest List For Cousin’s Wedding Despite Prince William Landing An Invite?!

The royal family drama train never seems to stop rolling, does it?!

A new report is shedding light on why Prince Harry allegedly didn’t make the cut onto the invite list for cousin Peter Phillips’ upcoming wedding to Harriet Sperling — and if the claims are actually true, it sounds like family loyalties may have played a major role.

According to royal commentator Emily Nash, who spoke to Page Six about it on Tuesday, the situation may be far less complicated than some royal watchers expected.

Speaking to the outlet about the purported guest list, she suggested Harry’s absence may simply reflect the reality of relationships that have faded over time. She explained:

“I think it comes down to interpersonal relationships, doesn’t it? What we were told was that Peter hadn’t spoken to Harry for the last few years. And so it sort of has been a natural cooling off and he wasn’t invited as a result.”

Ouch.

That explanation alone would be enough to get people talking, but there’s apparently another factor at play. While Harry’s connection with Peter may have cooled, Nash says the groom remains extremely close to Harry’s estranged older brother, Prince William:

“[Peter is] very loyal; he’s very protective. He’s been a very good sounding board to his cousin over the years. So it absolutely makes sense that I think had both Wales brothers been there, it would have put a completely different slant on the whole event. And that’s not what you want on what should be the happiest day of your life, right?”

And honestly, it’s not hard to see the concern. Any event featuring both William and Harry together instantly becomes a global headline these days. The focus would almost certainly shift from the bride and groom to endless speculation about whether the brothers spoke, smiled, or even stood near each other.

Nash also reflected on the difficult position Peter has occupied in the past during the family feud:

“Peter was positioned between the two warring brothers. He was sort of put right in the middle of them as the older cousin, and that must have been a really difficult moment for him.”

She added:

“Of course, a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then.”

That may be putting it mildly! Since Prince Philip’s funeral in 2021, Harry’s memoir Spare and the Sussexes’ Netflix projects have revealed deeply personal details about royal tensions, creating even more distance between various family members.

Because of that history, Nash believes excluding Harry may actually help keep attention where it belongs, per Nash:

“If that had been the case, that would have become the absolute focal point for Peter and Harriet’s special day, and there have been enough distractions, I think, from the good things about the royal family over the past year. Hopefully, they can just have this one day to come together and celebrate someone’s happy news for a change.”

Meanwhile, the guest list is expected to include plenty of familiar royal faces. Prince William and Princess Catherine are reportedly expected to attend, while King Charles III may also stop by. Peter’s sister Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall are anticipated to be there as well, along with plenty of other relatives from across the royal clan.

The wedding is also expected to highlight the couple’s blended family dynamic, as the insider noted:

“There is a real family at the heart of it — and a blended one as well. So it really is reflecting the much more modern face of the royal family.”

Adding another layer of intrigue, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are reportedly expected to attend, too!

Their appearance could draw attention given the ongoing scrutiny surrounding their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Nash explained:

“It will kind of show that there is still a place for them within the family. But it’s also important to remember this is very much a family occasion and not an official one. So you can’t read too much into these things, but I think it’s going to be fascinating to see how they interact with other members of the family.”

As for whether Andrew or Ferguson will make an appearance???? Uhhh… don’t count on it. Nash noted:

“I would say slim to zero. I don’t think we’ll see either Andrew or Sarah there. The last year has been catastrophic for them as individuals and as a former couple.”

Yikes!

So, anyway, is Harry’s absence really about divided loyalties, a lack of communication, or simply avoiding unwanted wedding-day distractions?

Whatever the answer may be, one thing seems clear: even a family celebration can’t completely escape the shadow of royal drama.
