Lena Dunham is sharing a sweet story about how her husband, Luis Felber, had no idea why she was famous when they first met.
The 40-year-old actress, author, and creator of Girls recently reflected on the early days of their relationship while wrapping up her Famesick book tour. During a Q&A with former co-star Rita Wilson in Los Angeles on Wednesday (May 20), Lena revealed that Luis had never seen Girls before they connected, per People.
According to Lena, Luis received an Instagram message asking whether he “could bear to eat dinner with this person,” leading to a blind date.
At the time, Luis apparently made a very different assumption about who Lena was.
“He said, ‘I thought you might be a curve model,’” Lena recalled. “I went, ‘That is the loveliest thing I’ve ever heard.’”
Lena explained that Luis “didn’t seem to come with a lot of preconceived ideas about who I was,” adding, “He was present and interested but not too interested.”
What began as a blind date quickly turned into something much more. After meeting in 2021, the couple started dating, moved in together just a few months later, and tied the knot in September of that same year.
“I love to talk about him because he fills me with joy,” she shared.
