The competition heats up in this week’s MasterChef: Global Gauntlet as the home cooks face a pressure test built around one deceptively simple ingredient: eggs.
In Wednesday’s “Eggs Benedict” episode, the contestants enter the kitchen to find mystery boxes waiting at their stations containing nothing but eggs. Gordon Ramsay, Tiffany Derry, and Joe Bastianich then challenge the chefs to create a unique, culturally inspired take on the classic Eggs Benedict dish.
With another immunity pin on the line, the four global territories — Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Americas — continue battling for control early in the competition. But one team enters the challenge with a major disadvantage that could put their entire region at risk.
As always, the judges are looking for dishes that balance creativity, technical precision, and cultural identity — no easy task when perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise sauce are involved.
Mystery Box
One home cook not feeling the pressure tonight is Aishu, who won last week’s stadium food challenge and is now safely watching from the balcony. While she isn’t cooking this round, she still holds some power: Aishu gets to hand out disadvantages to several competitors, forcing them to use a “tiny whisk” throughout the challenge. She targets Team Europe, explaining that she’s ready to take out some major threats in the competition.
Before starting the clock, Gordon gives a quick demonstration on how to make the perfect Eggs Benedict — complete with a nod to his Scottish roots. It all seems easy enough (just add some lobster and a little caviar), but will the home cooks successfully put their own spin on the classic dish or crack under the pressure?

Top Dishes
Shompa (Team Asia-Pacific)
Dish: Shrimp Malai Curry Eggs Benedict with Curry Hollandaise Sauce and Poori Bread
Gordon: “I love that you took the risk of incorporating that malai curry and making the bread. We love seeing those kind of efforts.”
Tiffany: “That bread is special. It really adds to the experience of this dish.”
Joe: “It’s incredibly balanced and delicate.”
Basia (Team Europe)
Dish: Kapusta Eggs Benedict with Dill Hollandaise Sauce and Pork Sausage
Gordon: “Delicious. The eggs are cooked beautifully. Stop second-guessing yourself. The flavors are exquisite.”
Tiffany: “The eggs look great and the consistency of the hollandaise looks really inviting.”
Joe: “I would have never thought of putting sauerkraut and pork in a Benedict, but this dish works because you’re honest to your roots.”
Heidi (Team Africa)
Dish: Crawfish Eggs Benedict with Peri Peri Hollandaise Sauce
Gordon: “I love the idea of the peri peri infusion across that hollandaise. It looks very good.”
Tiffany: “This is the lightest Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. It is a very good dish.”
Joe: “Smart use of seasoning. Restaurant-quality. Top-notch.”
Maria (Team Americas)
Dish: Eggs Benedict with Creamy Leeks
Gordon: “Delicious. You’d think the creamed leeks would be too rich, but it’s not. Humble cooking at its best.”
Tiffany: “There’s a lot of great flavors and depth that you got with just leeks and cream.”
Joe: “This is a great example of ‘less is more.’ Great strategy.”
Winner
The winner of this challenge is Heidi. She will have immunity in the next challenge and the entire Africa team is safe from tonight’s elimination.

Bottom Dishes
Foo (Team Asia-Pacific)
Dish: Shaking Beef Eggs Benedict with Crispy Pancetta, Sautéed Asparagus, and Thai Basil Hollandaise Sauce
Gordon: “It’s such a shame. The beef tastes nice… but it’s a bad concept. Too complicated.”
Tiffany: “Obviously, the plate does not look clean. It doesn’t look like something you’d be proud to serve.”
Joe: “We asked you to do two things: make a hollandaise and poach an egg. You don’t have a mastery of those basic techniques and it shows.”
Nico (Team Europe)
Dish: Bomboloni Eggs Benedict with Tomato Jam, Braised Artichokes, and Basil Hollandaise Sauce
Gordon: “It looks a mess. It looks rushed — it looks unfinished. The saving grace is that the eggs and tomato jam taste beautiful.”
Tiffany: “The actual hollandaise is tasty, it’s just a weird texture. Overall, it’s very unappetizing.”
Joe: “Do you think we’re stupid? Bomboloni is a doughnut — this is a croissant. You’re not fooling anyone in the room.”
Camilo (Team Americas)
Dish: Eggs Benedict Torta with Chorizo Beans and Spicy Hollandaise Sauce
Gordon: “It looks like one of the most unappetizing Eggs Benedict I’ve ever seen. It’s like something my six-year-old son would throw together.”
Tiffany: “This is a mess. The egg is not really on the plate. I can’t taste enough of the spices in the sauce. There’s a lot wrong here.”
Joe: “These are the kind of dishes that do a disservice to the ethnicity of the cuisine that you’re trying to exalt.”
Elimination
Foo, Nico, and Camilo each struggled by focusing on the wrong elements in their dishes, but only one home cook’s MasterChef journey will end tonight. In the end, the judges eliminate Camilo.
Addressing the home cook from Team Americas, Gordon says, “Tonight, the entire dish felt a million miles away from the challenge. Sadly, your journey is ending tonight.”

“I’m feeling disappointed, but despite being eliminated, this opportunity to be on MasterChef was amazing,” Camilo says afterward. “I came to MasterChef on a dare from my daughter, and it became so much more than that. Representing the Americas — specifically Mexican culture — made me proud to be Latin American.”
Next time
With the World Cup approaching, it’s time for the first team challenge. The Top 18 home cooks will prepare meals for 100 young soccer players — and Heidi gets to pick the teams. If the chefs can’t work together, their shot at victory will go up in flames.
