FOX’s streaming strategy just got a little bigger. Red Seat Ventures has inked a multiyear partnership with Crime Weekly, the true-crime podcast hosted by former police detective and private investigator Derrick Levasseur and creator Stephanie Harlowe.
Under the deal, Red Seat Ventures will handle exclusive audio and video ad sales and distribute the show across FOX’s streaming platforms, including Tubi and FOX One, as well as third-party platforms like YouTube. The show, launched in 2020, has already built a major audience with nearly 90 million YouTube views and more than 50 million podcast listens.
“Crime Weekly is one of most thrilling and captivating podcasts in the true crime space,” said Alyse Powers, Vice President of Events, Red Seat Ventures. “We’ve hosted Derrick and Stephanie at our CrimeCon events, and now we’re delighted to officially partner with them in monetizing their business across wide-ranging distribution platforms.”
Back in February 2025, FOX acquired Red Seat Ventures and positioned it under Tubi Media Group, giving the company a creator-led podcast operation with deeper reach across streaming, live events, and digital media. With the latest agreement, Crime Weekly is joining a packed slate of content streaming on FOX One this month as the media giant continues to turn its digital properties into more than just places for live channels and on-demand video.
Video podcasts are becoming a retention tool for major platforms, and FOX has made them part of its broader streaming identity. FOX One recently added eight podcast series from FOX News Media and Red Seat Ventures, including Hang Out with Sean Hannity, Ruthless, The Riley Gaines Show, Planet Tyrus, Will Cain Country, The Brett Cooper Show, Keeping It Real: Conversations with Jillian Michaels, and The President’s Daily Brief with Mike Baker.
FOX’s video podcast additions follow a broader industry trend after the largest video streaming service, Netflix, struck a partnership with iHeartMedia late last year. In that deal, more than 15 iHeart original podcasts were added to Netflix, which rolled out earlier this year. The lineup includes true-crime, history, and pop-culture titles, showing that video podcasts are quickly becoming another battleground in the streaming wars
With Crime Weekly joining the fray, FOX is widening its lane with more creator-driven programming. Last month, the company added the viral live comedy podcast, Kill Tony, in an exclusive multi-year deal. Under the new deal, the podcast is now distributed across FOX’s streaming services, including Tubi and FOX One, which helps the apps feel like full entertainment destinations.
“Red Seat Ventures are experts in building new business avenues for creators like us in the true-crime podcast ecosystem. What’s made this partnership even more meaningful is the incredible work they’ve done helping victims and their families amplify their voices and bring attention to cases that deserve to be heard,” said Derrick and Stephanie. “This deal is a natural evolution of our longstanding relationship, and we’re excited to continue bringing these important stories to even wider audiences.”
