Jon Favreau is finally admitting he was wrong to warn Joe and Anthony Russo against killing off Tony Stark/Iron Man in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” Favreau gave rise to the Marvel Cinematic Universe when he cast Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man in the 2008 movie of the same name. They re-teamed for 2010’s “Iron Man 2,” with Favreau continuing to work with Downey in other Marvel movies by playing Tony’s assistant and driver Happy Hogan. “I called the Russos. I was like, ‘I don’t know about — I don’t think people — I don’t know if people are going to…
Ian Tuason’s debut feature Undertone (now streaming on VOD platforms like Amazon Prime Video) being the latest example of how the horror genre is a breeding ground for high-ceiling filmmakers. The modestly innovative creeper stars Nina Kiri (The Handmaid’s Tale) in what’s essentially a single-location one-hander that uses brilliant sound design, precision camera movement and negative space to amplify the uncertainty of Whatever The Hell Is Going On Around Here, and the result can be chilling. And for the most part, those strengths outmuscle the less convincing stuff in a movie that aims to exploit some fairly common irrational fears.…

Bruckheimer, the mega-producer behind the Top Gun and The Pirates of the Caribbean movies, has partnered with Jorge Rivera-Herrans, the creator, composer, songwriter, producer, and performer behind the viral sensation, and Atlantic Music Group president Kevin Weaver to produce an animated musical adaptation of the epic,…

Earth Day is a good reminder that watching smarter can also mean thinking greener. Centered on the theme “Our Power, Our Planet,” today focuses on everyday actions, community problem-solving, and the idea that environmental progress is built over time. Since 1970, Earth Day has been a day of understanding the bigger picture and the choices shaping our planet’s future. Many Americans are seeing an increase in their energy bills due to massive data centers and energy-intensive infrastructure. With a knock on the door in the early morning, a family’s life is upended forever. Directed by Cole Webley and written by Robert Machoian, the film features a mostly silent but incredibly powerful performance by Magaro as a father who’s clearly struggling to provide for his children, 9-year-old Ella (Molly Belle Wright) and 6-year-old…
Hulu’s The Testaments pulls inspiration from Margaret Atwood‘s book — but what significant changes did The Handmaid’s Tale spinoff make? Based on Atwood’s novel of the same name, The Handmaid’s Tale, which aired from 2017 to 2025, takes place in a dystopian future where low fertility rates lead women to be assigned to men for the purpose of bearing children. The Hulu show took inspiration from Atwood’s source material before expanding with The Testaments. Set 15 years later — in the book at least — the follow-up is narrated by Ann Dowd‘s Aunt Lydia as viewers are thrust back into…
Reese Witherspoon has been met with the expected industry backlash following her recent interest in artificial intelligence. To be clear, no one is paying me to talk about this,” she prefaced in a since-expired Instagram Story, reported by multiple outlets. “I’m just a curious human. My kids are learning about…
