Taylor Swift has confirmed that she will attend the 2026 Country Music Awards, marking her first appearance in 10 years!
The 36-year-old singer broke the news on Thursday (September 10) through a new post on her Instagram Story.
“LOOKS LIKE I HAVEN’T YEE’D MY LAST HAW THANK YOU CMA!!!” she wrote, before adding, “See you there November 18” along with a cowboy emoji.
Taylor received a single nomination for the 2026 Awards for her Toy Story 5 song “I Knew It, I Knew You,” produced by Jack Antonoff and engineered by Laura Sisk. She shared the nomination news on her Instagram.
“I Knew It, I Knew You” was inspired by the character of Jessie, voiced by Joan Cusack, in the latest Toy Story film.
Taylor Swift’s last CMAs appearance was in 2016
The “All Too Well” singer last appeared at the CMAs in 2016, when she presented Garth Brooks with Entertainer of the Year.
She has had 12 career CMA wins, so a victory this year would become her 13th overall.
Taylor revealed what the song really means
During an appearance at the iHeartCountry House Party earlier this month, Taylor shared that the song had different meanings, breaking down how specific lyrics were related to childhood memories along with references to the world of Toy Story.
The multi-Grammy winner also shared that she had been inspired by Jessie’s full-circle journey, which is what motivated her to accept the chance to write the song after initially turning the offer down.
Back in June, Pixar producer Jessica Choi shared the letter she penned that helped convince Taylor to take on the project.
Her song quickly broke multiple records.
The 2026 CMA Awards will take place on November 18, 2026 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Lainey Wilson will host. It will be broadcast on ABC and then available to stream the following day on Hulu and Disney+.
The Country Music Association announced all of the nominees on Thursday and other big names to receive noms included Lainey, Ella Langley, Chris Stapleton, Megan Moroney, Kacey Musgraves, Morgan Wallen, and more.
