Robert Langdon is officially heading back to the screen!

Netflix announced on Friday (September 4) that production is underway in Prague on its currently untitled series set in the world of Dan Brown‘s mystery novel The Secret of Secrets.

The streamer marked the production milestone by releasing a behind-the-scenes photo of lead actors Morgan Spector and Rebecca Hall together on the set.

Morgan, best known for his work on The Gilded Age, will star as Harvard professor and symbologist Robert Langdon. Rebecca will play scientist Katherine Solomon.

Netflix announces five new cast members

Netflix also announced five recurring actors who have joined the growing ensemble.

Mamoudou Athie will play Michael Harris, Ben Levi Ross will portray Alex Conan, and Anamaria Marinca has been cast as Dr. Gessner. Richard Sammel and Elena Saurel will play Karl Muller and Susan Housemore, respectively.

Previously announced series regulars include Cherry Jones as Heide Nagel, Corey Stoll as Everett Finch, Rob Delaney as Jonas Faukman, and Abbey Lee as Sasha Vesna.

The story will follow Robert as he races to rescue a missing scientist and recover her groundbreaking manuscript before it falls into the wrong hands. Its discoveries could permanently change humanity’s understanding of the mind.

In Dan Brown‘s thrilling novel, symbologist Robert Langdon races against ancient forces and time to rescue a missing scientist and her groundbreaking manuscript whose discoveries have the power to forever change humanity’s understanding of the mind. The series adaptation (currently untitled) will blend futuristic science with mystical lore, delivering on the heart-pounding suspense and international intrigue that has made the Langdon stories a global phenomenon.

According to Netflix, the adaptation will combine futuristic science and mystical lore with the international intrigue and historical mysteries associated with Dan‘s novels.

Carlton Cuse and Dan co-created the series. Carlton, whose previous credits include Lost, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Locke & Key, Bates Motel, and Five Days at Memorial, will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

Dan is also an executive producer alongside Emma Forman for Genre Arts and Zoe Robyn.

The Secret of Secrets was published in September 2025 and is the sixth book centered on Robert Langdon. The character previously appeared in Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol, Inferno, and Origin.

Dan‘s novels have collectively sold more than 250 million copies across 56 languages. Tom Hanks previously portrayed Robert in the movie adaptations of The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Inferno, which collectively grossed approximately $2.24 billion worldwide.

Netflix has not yet announced an official title or premiere date for the new series.
