Pip pip cheerio true crime podcast fans. Season 6 of the hit Hulu comedy Only Murders in the Building is looking a lot more like Only Murders in London.
As teased at the end of Season 5, the crime-solving trio of Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) is bound for the United Kingdom for their latest murder mystery. Hulu released first look images of the new season on Tuesday, along with a release date. Only Murders will be returning to the streaming airwaves on Dec. 8 as an early holiday present.

The plot
Here’s the official Season 6 logline from Hulu: After successfully bringing the guilty to justice once again, Charles, Oliver and Mabel embark on their hardest case yet when the next victim — Cinda Canning — arrives at their doorstep, summoning them to London to catch her killer. Our beloved trio of true crime-solving podcasters must now navigate their way through the home of the cozy murder mystery, replete with a whole new collection of suspicious and particularly English-eccentric characters. But can they follow in the footsteps of the woman whose podcast started it all for them … without having their story end the same as hers?
The cast and creative team
Besides our core trio, look for Tina Fey to reprise her role as the now-deceased Cinda Canning, whose murder takes center stage. Meryl Streep is also back as Oliver’s wife, Loretta Durkin. Meanwhile, the show’s already-formidable ranks of guest stars will now welcome a host of British thespians, including Oscar winner Olivia Colman, Doctor Who favorite David Tennant, Bridgerton‘s Nicola Coughlan, and Sherlock‘s Martin Freeman.
Behind the camera, the executive producers include Martin, Short, and Gomez as well as series co-creator John Hoffman, Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, Ben Smith, Jennifer Crittenden, and Gabrielle Allan.
The awards prospects
Six seasons in, Only Murders in the Building remains an Emmy powerhouse… when it comes to nominations at least. Season 5 is up for five statuettes, including Best Comedy Series and Best Comedy Actor for Short. Across all five years, the series has amassed 61 nods and 7 wins, including Nathan Lane for guest actor. It stands to reason that Season 6 will likely be up for many of those same awards at the 2027 Emmys, likely adding multiple Guest Star nominations for the U.K. newbies.
