These days, there are so many television shows to keep track of, more than ever before. Between the streaming originals that constantly pull focus, there are also underrated titles from broadcast and cable that continue to demand attention. Thankfully, they each make their way to our watch lists on Netflix if we’re lucky, and when it comes to Animal Control, we’re very lucky.
The Fox comedy series starring Joel McHale made its debut in 2023, and while it’s been ever so slightly going under the radar, the show’s profile was definitely raised when it began streaming on Netflix. Currently, three seasons are available to stream on Netflix, but they will be joined by the most recent season before another new season makes its premiere on the small screen.
Animal Control season 4 coming to Netflix before season 5
If you have been waiting for the latest episodes of Animal Control to hit your watch list, the wait is almost over. Animal Control season 4 releases on Netflix on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, just four months after the season finale on Fox in April. On that day, all 12 episodes from the fourth season will begin streaming and allow fans to catch up before season 5 debuts on Fox.
That’s right, in addition to the latest season finally streaming on Netflix, Animal Control season 5 is just a few weeks away from its highly anticipated premiere. The new season premieres on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, moving to the programming block that’s usually reserved for the network’s adult animated comedies like The Simpsons and Family Guy.
Beginning on Aug. 31, new fans can binge-watch all four of the latest seasons, which comprises of 43 total episodes, and those who haven’t been able to watch season 4 just yet can catch up. If you are also a Hulu subscriber, you will be able to keep up with the new season 5 episodes as they release. Each episode will be available to stream on Hulu the day after their airing on Fox.
Unfortunately, there will once again be quite a bit of a wait for Animal Control season 5 to eventually make its way to Netflix. Fox hasn’t confirmed how many episodes there will be in the fifth season, but so far in the series’ run, the episode count has been capped at 12. Since the show is airing in the fall for the first time, the final could airing before the new year if there are only 12 episodes.
If that’s the case, then Animal Control season 5 would be set for an arrival on Netflix sometime in mid-2027. But let’s not get to far ahead of ourselves. It’s time to watch season 4 of the hilarious comedy as the A.C. Northwest team continues to grapple with even more critters, bitter rivals, wild guest stars, and secret romances. Seriously, this is why it’s one of TV’s most underrated comedies.
