Gold Derby is serving up Big Brother 28 spoilers all summer long. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
At age 58, LaTrice “Lala” Verrett made history on Thursday as the oldest player ever to win the Head of Household Wall competition on a regular season of Big Brother (Kato Kaelin won it at age 59 on Celebrity BB2). As expected, Lala instantly became the most popular person in the house, with everyone wanting to talk to her before she named her nominations.
Lala considered multiple scenarios, but ultimately decided that Haley “Thog” Thogmartin would be her target for the week. Haley didn’t make any friends during her dramatic reign last week, and she annoyed multiple people when she claimed she’d had a bad first three weeks in the house … despite no one close to her ever touching the block.
Lala went ahead with her plan on Friday night. The Week 5 nominees are: Barrett Pfeiffer, Chuk Anyanwu, and Haley. It’s the first time on the block for all three Toolshed members.
It seems that most of the house is on board with Lala’s plan to eliminate Haley. When she informed Angela of her idea, the BB legend fell to her knees and started hugging the HOH in excitement. “I want it, Lala! Do you know how much I want that?”
At one point, Lala floated the idea of nominating Kamu Kirk, but the MMA fighter was able to talk himself out of the hot seat. Also of note: if the Power of Veto ends up being used later this week, Lala is considering putting up Drew Campbell as a renom.
Also up for grabs this week was the BB Time Capsule, where America voted for one person to earn a power or punishment. On Friday’s episode of Big Brother: Unlocked, hosts Jerry O’Connell, Derrick Levasseur, and Taylor Hale revealed that Mallory Aurichio was the recipient of this week’s choice.
When the live feeds came back on around 6:50 p.m. PT, Mallory was attached to Melody Morris via the “Adam and Eve” punishment. First seen in Big Brother 16, the twist requires two houseguests to be tethered together by a vine for 48 hours. Mallory and Melody will be getting to know each other really, really well over the next two days.
