Could Yellowstone fans be getting another Dutton reunion soon? Two stars of the Sheridan-verse finally weighed in, and we’re pleased to report that the answer is…maybe!
After Yellowstone wrapped its fifth and final season in 2024, 2026 saw the return of fan-favorite characters in the Luke Grimes-led spinoff, Marshals, and the Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser-led spinoff, Dutton Ranch. The former follows Kayce Dutton and his son Tate (Brecken Merrill) back in Montana. They’re still living on the family’s land at East Camp, with Kayce (Grimes) serving as a U.S. Marshal. Meanwhile, Dutton Ranch sees Beth (Reilly), Rip (Hauser), and their son Carter (Finn Little) start fresh and try to build a booming beef business in Rio Paloma, Texas.
Despite shared DNA, with two very different premises and locations, fans didn’t go into either series expecting Kayce and Beth’s worlds to collide any time soon. But in addition to being extremely similar, the Season 1 finales of Marshals and Dutton Ranch laid the groundwork for an epic crossover event. And based on comments from Reilly and Hauser, it sounds like a Beth and Kayce reunion could be a very real possibility.
For those who need a refresher, Marshals Season 1 ended on May 24 with Kayce’s son, Tate, in danger after unknowingly hopping a plane to Texas with Season 1 antagonist Tom Weaver (Chris Mulkey). And Dutton Ranch Season 1 ended on July 3 with the cartel kidnapping Beth and Rip’s son Carter.
When asked if the similar endings — which theoretically meant both boys would be kidnapped in Texas — were planned, Reilly reportedly smiled and told TV Insider, “Maybe.”

Though she didn’t confirm (or deny!) a crossover, she and Hauser did share thoughts on a potential reunion with former Yellowstone co-stars.
“What I will say is I’d love to work with Luke. We saw him in New York for the Upfronts, Kelly and I both, and I just love him, man. I miss him,” Hauser told TV Insider. “I miss him too,” Reilly echoed.
“I love people that we’ve worked with over the years in Yellowstone, but the fact that he’s on his show and we’re on this show, if there’s a way to somewhere down the road do something special where he comes and visits us or if we go to Montana, great,” Hauser added.
“Go find our sons,” Reilly continued. “…I think Beth misses her brother, so I would love that to happen. And we were all very close. Wes Bentley, who played Jamie, Kelsey [Asbille], who played Monica Dutton]. We were a family, and we miss them very much. So the more we can get back in, that’s what we’re fighting for, Cole and I. Where we get our wishes, we would love to have as many back in our world.”
Beth and Kayce’s brother Jamie — who fans said goodbye to in Yellowstone‘s finale — and Kayce’s wife Monica — who we learned died of cancer in Marshals‘ Season 1 premiere — likely wouldn’t appear in a crossover situation (though we know Taylor Sheridan loves a flashback). That said, there’s room for other Yellowstone stars to get involved, like Gil Birmingham and Mo Brings Plenty, who reprised their roles on Marshals.
We’ll ultimately have to wait and see what the spinoffs have in store, but Reilly told The Dallas Morning News that Sheridan will be involved in Dutton Ranch Season 2, saying, “We talk to him now about what the next season could be, and he wants to be involved.” So fingers crossed that the two Sheridan shows could pull off one of TV’s most epic crossover events.
