The Hunting Wives are hoping size doesn’t matter when it comes to the Emmys.
Netflix is staging a pared-down Emmy campaign for its raunchy series, with just nine submissions total, including for lead actresses Brittany Snow as Sophie O’Neil and Malin Akerman as Margo Banks.
Things are so tight that just two other performers have been entered for awards consideration: supporting players Dermot Mulroney as Jed Banks and Chrissy Metz as Starr Jackson. Left off the ballot are Evan Jonigkeit as Graham O’Neil, Katie Lowes as Jill, Jaime Ray Newman as Callie, and more.
Creator Rebecca Cutter is eligible as a producer for Best Comedy Series and she’s also submitted for writing the pilot, “Strange and Unfamiliar Places.” The same episode is being campaigned for production design and sound mixing. Finally, the show is eligible for stunt coordination.
The Hunting Wives is opting not to compete for honors like guest acting, directing, casting, cinematography, costumes, makeup, hairstyling, music, etc. Even if Netflix didn’t submit it in those categories, the individuals could have submitted themselves for a $225 entry fee, but it’s too late now: nominations-round voting ends June 22.
The series finds Sophie leaving city life behind for East Texas, where she gets swept into the spell of a rich socialite, Margo, and a circle of housewives harboring deadly secrets. Season 1 has an 81% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and a second season has already been filmed.
Addressing the decision to campaign the show as a comedy, Snow told Gold Derby, “I think comedy is subjective when it comes to this show because I think what’s funny about the show is sort of different for everybody. Is it satire? Are we relating to people? Are we making fun of people? Are we doing both? Are we doing a commentary? I think it’s all of those things.”

Here are all of the categories in which The Hunting Wives has submitted at the 2026 Emmys. Episode titles are listed where applicable. The nominations will be announced July 8.
