Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s lives could be heading in very different directions!
Former People and Us Weekly editor Dan Wakeford claimed on Tom Sykes‘ The Royalist podcast this week that sources inside the Sussex camp say Harry is feeling a bit homesick lately! Oh no! He allegedly longs to go back to England one day, but Meghan, well, does not!
As Wakeford explained, the couple desired to make a name for themselves when they quit the royal family back in 2020, and Meg is still on that path and gunning for the “Lauren Sánchez lifestyle!” However, that seemingly isn’t Harry’s dream anymore, leaving them at a bit of a crossroads in their marriage:
“These two people want completely different things. What Harry wants, and what Megan wants, is very different. And that is what the difficult thing is. They’re in love, but they want very different lives. Harry wants this life in England. He wants to do philanthropy, and she wants to be more of a Lauren Bezos, sleek, glamorous figure of success and lifestyle.”
Uh oh… This doesn’t sound good when it comes to the future of their marriage…

Wakeford went on to say Harry “misses his home,” “misses his friends,” and “misses that safety and that security” that royal life gave him. But again, Meghan, who often felt suffocated and ostracized throughout her time in the royal family, does not.
Since leaving, the pair have been trying everything to build their own fortune apart from The Firm, even signing huge deals with Netflix and Spotify. Those haven’t been very successful, though. In fact, Meghan and Harry got dumped by the music platform. They’re also reportedly having issues with Netflix behind the scenes, but their deal isn’t entirely over… yet! So, considering the Sussexes can’t get anything to stick, Wakeford questioned whether their “sacrifice” was really worth it in the end:
“The Netflix deal alone represents a level of income we could only dream of in a lifetime. Even the Spotify deal — my sources said they took away $5 million as an exit from that deal. That is more money than most people would ever dream of making in a lifetime. Financially, they’ve made money. But it is not sustainable. That is the issue here. Have they really built something that justifies the sacrifice of the family, the estrangement, the loss, and the security issues that they have had to deal with?”
Does Harry wonder this, too? Is that why he’s allegedly thinking more and more about going home? Wakeford continued:
“They attempted to build this media empire and pursued a lot of these ventures, even charitable endeavors, but what they’ve discovered is that it hasn’t turned into a sustainable entertainment identity.”
But despite wanting two different things, Wakeford insisted Harry and Meghan are “not wildly unhappy together,” and “they are bound by a very strong bond and get along very well.” Phew! That’ll bring some relief to Sussex fans! He added:
“But they often alienate the partners they work with, and they have a tendency to alienate the people around them as well.”
Oof! It sounds like Harry and Meghan have a lot they need to talk about and figure out soon — if this is really how he’s feeling! Watch the podcast episode (below):
