6 Netflix shows you need to watch before April 2026 is over

Netflix isn’t slowing down in April 2026. In fact, the platform is packed with new seasons, bold spinoffs, and unexpected genre swings that make this one of the most interesting streaming months of the year so far!

From returning fan-favorite romances to gritty thrillers, animated spinoffs, and chaotic crime comedies, Netflix is stacked with shows that deserve a spot on your watchlist before the month wraps up. So if you’re trying to decide what to binge next, here are six Netflix shows you need to stream before April is over!

Note: All the Netflix series on this list either returned with new installments in April or debuted this month.

(L to R) Sang Heon Lee as Min Ho Moon, Anna Cathcart as Kitty Song Covey in episode 308 of XO, Kitty | Netflix

XO, Kitty season 3

XO, Kitty returns for its third season with Kitty Song-Covey entering her senior year at KISS, and everything feels more serious this time around. What started as a chaotic teen spinoff of the To All the Boys film series has now evolved into a story about identity, emotional maturity, and real-life decisions.

XO, Kitty season 3 pushes Kitty into a new phase where she can’t just fix everyone else’s love lives. She has to focus on her own. Her relationship with Min Ho becomes one of the emotional anchors of the season, evolving through distance, misunderstandings, and eventual reconciliation.

By the end of the season, Kitty’s journey becomes less about matchmaking chaos and more about understanding what she actually wants from life, love, and her future beyond high school.

Love on the Spectrum season 4

(L to R) Abbey and David in episode 401 of Love on the Spectrum | Netflix

Love on the Spectrum season 4

Love on the Spectrum season 4 continues its deeply empathetic look at dating and relationships among autistic adults, but this time the emotional tone is noticeably more mature. Instead of focusing primarily on first dates and early connections, the series moves into long-term relationships, real commitment, and the challenges of building a shared future.

Returning couples are now facing milestones that carry real weight like moving in together and figuring out what a lasting partnership actually requires. At the same time, the season also acknowledges that not all relationships are meant to last. So, the fourth season is a mix of both couples and new and returning singles seeking a romantic connection.

Big Mistakes season 1

(L to R) Taylor Ortega as Morgan and Dan Levy as Nicky in Episode 107 of Big Mistakes | Netflix

Big Mistakes

Big Mistakes is a dark comedy crime series built around one simple idea. It’s that small bad decisions can spiral into life-destroying consequences faster than anyone expects. The show follows two siblings who make a desperate, poorly thought-out choice to solve a family problem, only to find themselves entangled in organized crime.

What makes Big Mistakes work is the contrast between how normal the siblings are and how extreme their situation becomes. They are not criminals, masterminds, or professionals. They are people completely out of their depth, constantly improvising their way through situations they don’t understand.

As their mistake snowballs, they become involved in blackmail, criminal negotiations, and escalating threats that force them deeper into a world they never intended to enter.

Beef season 2

(L to R) Charles Melton as Austin Davis, Carey Mulligan as Lindsay Crane-Martin, Oscar Isaac as Josh Martin, Cailee Spaeny as Ashley Miller in episode 202 of Beef | Netflix

Beef season 2

Beef returns with a completely new narrative and characters in its second season. Season 2 shifts away from the personal, one-on-one rage that defined the first installment and instead builds its story around a wider, more dangerous web of relationships inside an elite country club tied to powerful social and financial figures.

The season opens by introducing two central couples whose lives exist on opposite ends of the same world. One couple, Josh and Lindsay, is embedded in the upper management and ownership side of the country club lifestyle. They’re the type of people who are used to control, influence, and maintaining appearances at all costs.

The other much younger couple, Austin and Ashley, works closer to the ground level of that same environment. They hold service or operational roles that give them access to the inner workings of the elite space but very little real power within it. When Austin and Ashley witness a heated argument between Josh and Lindsay, everything changes.

What should have been a private, contained blow-up between a wealthy, tightly controlled couple quickly becomes the spark that sets off a much larger chain reaction.

Stranger Things: Tales From '85

(L to R) Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Benjamin Plessala as Will, Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, and Luca Diaz as Mike in Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 | Netflix

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85

Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 expands the Stranger Things universe through animation. It revisits Hawkins during the winter of 1985 in the period between seasons 2 and 3 of the original series. While the town appears calmer on the surface following earlier supernatural events, it quickly becomes clear that something is still wrong beneath the surface.

The original group of kids, consisting of Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max, find themselves drawn back into the mystery when strange occurrences begin to resurface in Hawkins. New supernatural creatures begin appearing across the town, and the Hawkins gang must work together to defeat them while also solving a new paranormal mystery.

Man on Fire season 1

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as John Creasy in Episode 101 of Man on Fire | Juan Rosas/Netflix

Man on Fire

The Netflix adaptation of Man on Fire reimagines the classic story as a serialized, emotionally driven action thriller centered on John Creasy. Creasy is a former Special Forces operative living with severe PTSD and emotional trauma. Once defined by violence and military precision, he is now a man trying and largely failing to disconnect from his past.

His attempt at a quiet life is disrupted when a catastrophic event pulls him back into a world of danger and conspiracy. Assigned to protect a young girl connected to a larger criminal network, Creasy finds himself slowly drawn into a situation that is far more complex than simple protection.

The 2004 film adaptation starring Oscar winner Denzel Washington was a smash hit and is considered by many a modern action classic. Netflix’s Man on Fire series will likely garner much attention from both longtime fans of the original story and new viewers discovering the franchise for the first time.
