Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIV Match Card:
WWE Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) vs. Ethan Page
Penta has spent the spring proving himself as one of Raw’s most active champions. Since defeating Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship in March, he has survived a WrestleMania ladder match and worked through challengers including Kofi Kingston, Rusev and Dragon Lee.
In one of WWE’s most Elite main events to date, this title match has all the markings of an instant classic. Ethan Page forced his way into the title picture after pinning Penta during tag action earlier this month. Called up to Raw the night after WrestleMania, Page quickly inserted himself into the championship scene and now gets the biggest opportunity of his main roster career. With Rey Fenix also publicly showing interest in a future title opportunity, the picture around Penta is becoming increasingly crowded.
WWE World Tag Team Championship: The Vision (Logan Paul & Austin Theory) (c) vs. The Street Profits
The Street Profits returned the night after WrestleMania 42 and immediately targeted the World Tag Team Championships. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have spent weeks battling through distractions and interference while pursuing a chance at championship gold.
The Vision enters with Logan Paul and Austin Theory holding the titles, but support from allies throughout the spring has created problems for every team that has challenged them. Seth Rollins even offered assistance to even the odds, though The Street Profits declined. They’ll now head into Fort Wayne hoping they can solve the numbers game on their own.
Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca
This newest addition to Saturday Night’s Main Event came together during Raw’s final stop before Fort Wayne. Sol Ruca was being interviewed backstage when Becky Lynch interrupted and pointed out that Ruca still has not earned a win on WWE’s main roster.
The confrontation quickly escalated, leading Ruca to walk to the ring and challenge Lynch on the spot. Becky agreed to the match for Saturday Night’s Main Event, but made it clear that her Women’s Intercontinental Championship would not be on the line. For Ruca, this becomes an opportunity for the biggest victory of her WWE career.
Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab
Jade Cargill has spent the weeks following WrestleMania 42 chasing Rhea Ripley and looking for payback after losing her championship. Alongside Michin and B-Fab, she has repeatedly attempted to overwhelm Ripley through sheer numbers.
Now Ripley heads into Fort Wayne alongside Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss after events on SmackDown pushed the rivalry further. While the trio brings plenty of star power, the alliance also carries years of history and tension. With Clash in Italy just days away, this match could shape the momentum heading into WWE’s next major event.
