No, that rumored reality show about Spencer Pratt‘s mayoral bid is NOT happening!
In case you didn’t hear the rumors, TMZ claimed Spencer had signed a deal with Boardwalk Pictures to follow along during his campaign for mayor — and if he won, the aftermath! This rumor ended up being echoed by Deadline, who said production was already happening! So you’ve got both TMZ and Deadline, typically reliable outlets, reporting their sources say it’s true.
Now, Spencer got his fame from being one of the stars of MTV‘s smash hit series The Hills — arguably the most iconic reality show of the late ’00s. So the idea of reality TV cameras following him around as he tries to win the hearts of Angelenos didn’t sound super far-fetched.

But, no, there’s no hope for that new reality show! Reps for Heidi Montag‘s hubby shut it down quick, telling TheWrap:
“This is inaccurate. There is no series in production and cameras have not been following the campaign. He does not have any signed contract. No contract exists related to this because it isn’t true.”
They also added a little extra tidbit to US Weekly, telling the outlet he even has “no plans to do so” on top of this. So according to his camp there’s no show happening now, no show happening in the future!
If you want to follow along Spencer’s campaign you’ll have to do it another way. Just earlier this week, Katharine McPhee and David Foster threw a fundraiser for him. See (below):
