The final round of auditions has arrived on MasterChef.
After standout dishes from Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Africa, the competition heads into its final qualifying round Wednesday night as home cooks representing countries across the Americas step into the kitchen for one last shot at earning a white apron.
The World Cup-style format remains in full effect, with contestants needing three yeses from Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich, and Tiffany Derry to advance. One no can end the journey instantly — and with a $250,000 grand prize and the MasterChef trophy on the line, there’s no room for mistakes.
Team Americas auditions
Representing countries across North, Central, and South America, the final group of home cooks arrives ready to fight for the last remaining white aprons.
The Americas are known for both tradition and innovation — but more than anything, they’re home to scrappy, talented, resilient cooks unafraid to challenge the status quo. It’s a melting pot of cuisines, where flavors, cultures, and techniques constantly mix and evolve.
With just 45 minutes on the clock, each contestant must deliver a signature plate that not only reflects where they come from, but also meets the judges’ demand for restaurant-quality execution.
Tkaiya, 23, Jamaica, N.Y. (Jamaica)

Representing Jamaica, Tkaiya is currently pursuing a master’s degree in marketing, but says she’s here to find her culinary voice — and win. Inspired by her late grandmother, she prepares pineapple-glazed jerk chicken with sweet potato purée, but while plating realizes she forgot to add the pineapple glaze to the chicken.
Gordon praises the beautiful presentation and strong sear on the chicken, though says it’s missing sweetness. Tiffany calls the dish fragrant and beautiful, but also misses the glaze. Joe says he can taste every layer of the jerk spice and calls it “an easy yes.” Despite the mishap, Tkaiya earns a white apron.
Coby, 55, Lafayette, La. (U.S.A.)

Representing Cajun culture, Coby has spent the past 28 years working as a firefighter. He prepares alligator sauce piquant with smothered cabbage, earning early praise from Joe, who calls the dish “full-flavored” and “elegant.”
But Gordon says the alligator itself is bland, which proves to be the deciding factor. Coby is sent home.
Camilo, Texas (U.S.A.)

Representing San Antonio Tex-Mex cuisine, Camilo says that while he’s proud of his Mexican heritage, he’s here representing the U.S.A. first. He prepares grilled achiote-rubbed quail with roasted corn salsa and avocado smash.
Tiffany loves the caramelization on the quail, while Gordon praises the cook on the bird, calling it “a bold move.” Tiffany’s only concern is that she wants more spice in the dish, but despite her hesitation, she gives Camilo the third yes he needs to earn a white apron.
Harold, 31, Austin, Texas (Venezuela)

Representing Venezuela, Harold says he began cooking after leaving his home country nine years ago, using food as a way to stay connected to his heritage. He prepares arroz con pollo, hoping the comforting dish will earn him a white apron.
Tiffany praises the vibrant colors and says she’s excited to dig in, but the judges quickly discover the chicken is undercooked. The costly mistake ends Harold’s MasterChef journey.
Jhanelle, 29, Savannah, Ga. (Jamaica)

Jhanelle describes her cooking style as “bold” and inspired by the first 11 years she spent growing up in Jamaica. She prepares pan-seared sea bass with Jamaican spiced broth and caramelized butternut squash, earning early praise from Joe, who says the dish looks like something you’d find in a modern restaurant.
But the judges discover the fish is slightly undercooked, while the broth is overwhelmingly salty. Gordon delivers the deciding no, ending Jhanelle’s hopes of earning a white apron.
Brittany, Los Angeles (Barbados)

Representing Barbados, Brittany is a professional wrestler known as Brittany Bay, describing herself as a fearless, feisty beach girl. She prepares salted cod fish cakes with scotch bonnet-garlic aioli and apple-fennel slaw.
Tiffany praises the smart plating, though she’s immediately hit by the intense spice. Joe jokingly calls the dish a “launch off the ropes” before coughing from the heat, while Gordon says the execution is simple but the flavor is absolutely there. Joe admits the sauce is too spicy for him, but loves the balance from the slaw. Impressed that Brittany refused to tone down the heat, Tiffany gives her the third and final yes she needs to earn a white apron.
Jake, 24, Alma, Mich. (Mexico)

Representing Mexico, Jake says that while he works as a pharmacy technician, “the kitchen is the lab I love the most,” joking that the judges are his “lab rats” — and he keeps them well fed. He prepares a mole negro cake with chocolate-chili ganache and black sesame crème anglaise.
Tiffany says the dessert doesn’t look as refined as the judges would like, but Gordon calls the cake “delicious” with a “sublime” texture. Tiffany agrees the flavors work, only wishing for a touch of salt on top, while Joe enthusiastically gives Jake a yes. Jake earns a white apron.
Andrea, Ala. (Alaska/U.S.A.)

Andrea says she’s putting “Alaska on a plate,” drawing inspiration from fond memories of hunting and fishing with her grandmother in rural Alaska. Wanting the judges to better understand the food of her Indigenous community, she prepares salmon with crushed blueberries, carrot purée, and a microgreen salad.
Joe calls the dish “balanced and elegant,” but Gordon says it leans too sweet overall. Andrea is ultimately denied a white apron, leaving the competition in tears.
Maria, Miami (Brazil)

Maria says she was born in a small village in Brazil below the poverty line before moving to a big city to help support her parents financially. After meeting her husband, she moved to the United States at 19 years old and began developing her cooking skills as a way to reconnect with the flavors of home.
She prepares moqueca de camarão — shrimp in coconut milk — earning rave reviews from the judges. Tiffany calls the dish “stunning,” adding that it’s “an explosion of flavor,” while Gordon praises the beautifully cooked shrimp. Maria earns the final white apron of the season.
