Nobody Wants This season 3 is finally coming to Netflix sooner than you think

Since the follow-up season of Nobody Wants This cemented the series as one of Netflix’s best original comedies, we have been waiting for the most exciting season 3 announcement: The release date! We had been expecting the series to return again in the fall, but the streaming service had been keeping mum all summer. Finally, we know when Joanne and Noah return.

If you’re worried that there’s a lot more waiting to do for Nobody Wants This season 3, that’s not the case at all. As of the release date announcement, there’s about one month to go until the new season drops on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026. All told, Netflix brings the series back with a new season less than one year after season 2. (For those keeping score, season 2 dropped on Oct. 22 last year.)

Nobody Wants This season 3 is coming to Netflix in October

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody continue to make our hearts swell this fall as Nobody Wants This season 3 embarks on a new chapter for their characters Joanne and Noah. The first two seasons have been all about the characters falling in love and fighting for their relationship amid a myriad of cultural and familial roadblocks, but they’re stronger than ever and moving in together!

Netflix shared the official synopsis for Nobody Wants This season 3:

“After recommitting to each other at the end of last season, Joanne and Noah are moving into a home — and a relationship — that finally feels solid, embracing every exciting ‘first’ that comes with building their life together. Sasha and Esther are thrust back into the dating world, whether they like it or not, stumbling through all the awkwardness (and unexpected thrill) of getting to know someone new, right as Morgan takes her career to the next level, on her way to becoming an (almost) media sensation. Meanwhile, Sasha and Morgan have been circling something neither of them has been able to admit to.”

There are a lot of new beginnings in store this season, even beyond Joanne and Noah taking the huge step to move in together. Their decision to cohabitate comes after their relationship almost blew up all over again in the season 2 finale under the weight of more conversion stress. But the excitement of building their life as one appears to be more important than any outside factor.

While Joanne and Noah were able to make it out of the second season on solid ground, the same can’t be said for the show’s other couples. Morgan (Justin Lupe) opted not to follow through with her engagement, and Sasha (Timothy Simons) and Esther (Jackie Tohn) decided to separate due to the strain that had been dragging down their marriage. So, there are three singles going into season 3, and Morgan and Sasha could be ready to address the elephant in the room: their feelings.

Sasha and Jackie will be experimenting with dating again in Nobody Wants This season 3, and Morgan throws herself into new opportunities in her career, per creator Erin Foster and showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan. As those three explore new avenues of their life, Joanne and Noah are able to finally feel some semblance of peace, though there will still be conflicts.

As Foster explained to Netflix’s Tudum, “We wanted to make sure that this couple is still fun and flirty with each other. That’s the thing that makes them special and why they like each other so much. We talk in the writers room about if your man sees you in your bra and underwear, he’s still going to hope you’re about to have sex. No matter how long you’ve been together. That’s the dynamic we’re looking to emulate in the show — that once you get settled in, it doesn’t have to stop being fun.”

Joanne and Noah have had ups and downs in their relationship, and they will continue to face new ones as they live under the same roof for the first time. But they are settled and having fun, without worry of whether they will stay together this time. Also, Nobody Wants This will feature some fresh faces in its guest cast, which includes Foster appearing onscreen in the series for the first time.

Additionally, new guest stars for the third seasons include Andrew Rannells, Sarah Silverman, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Sadie Sandler, Poorna Jagannathan, Steven Weber, Stephanie Koenig, and Avan Jogia. Shiloh Bearman, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Paul Ben-Victor, and Tovah Feldshuh are set to reprise their recurring roles.

Nobody Wants This season 3 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 22 with all 10 episodes dropping at once on Netflix. Take a look at more photos from the season below!
