Chris Evans is opening up about fatherhood.
Earlier this month, the Materialists star appeared at Fan Expo Boston 2026, where he got to talking about the daughter he welcomed with wife Alba Baptista last year. On the subject of working, the 45-year-old dished:
“I have a daughter now. You need a really good reason to want to go to work now. [My] priorities have shifted a bit.”
Awww! Marvel must really be cooking with Avengers: Doomsday, then, if the film was enough to bring him out of superhero retirement! But in all seriousness, we adore hearing Chris talk about loving fatherhood and prioritizing being there for his baby girl.

Last October, the Captain America star welcomed daughter Alma Grace with wife Alba Baptista, whom he wed in a private ceremony in 2023. Rumors first started swirling of their pregnancy last year when Alba’s dad Luiz responded directly to a fan post celebrating him on Father’s Day possibly thinking it was Chris. He wrote:
“Many thanks dear Chris. Your turn is coming!”
