Details are being disclosed about a forthcoming psychological thriller starring Rachel Zegler.
Bleecker Street Films has acquired U.S. rights to NDA, marking the feature directorial debut for Audrey Ellis Fox after her script for the film landed on the 2024 Black List.
Penn Badgley and Amy Ryan round out the cast for the movie that is currently in production in New York.
NDA centers on Dana (Zegler), who faces a wild day of mediation after filing an office harassment claim. As the deadline approaches, she navigates questions about silence and the truth.
Producers include Jared Ian Goldman and Zola Elgart Glassman for Mighty Engine, Keith Calder and Jess Wu Calder for SNOOT, Caitlin Gold for Tanbark Pictures and Daniel Ginsberg for In The Cut Productions. Ellis Fox executive produces alongside Kent Sanderson, Tyler DiNapoli and Miranda King for Bleecker Street, in addition to Christian Hall.
“NDA was one of the best scripts I’ve read and is exactly the kind of bold, filmmaker-driven cinema we’re passionate about championing,” said Bleecker Street CEO Kent Sanderson in a statement. “Audrey is a tremendous talent, and we’re honored to collaborate with her and the equally talented Rachel to bring this story to life.”
Ellis Fox added, “I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Rachel, Penn, Amy, Bleecker and the rest of this exceptional team to bring my film to screen. NDA is a story about power and perception, and it’s incredibly exciting to work with partners who so fiercely believe in its vision.”
Zegler’s next features include Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Octet and the comedic drama She Gets It From Me alongside Marisa Tomei.
Ellis Fox is represented by CAA, Writ Large and Austen Tyerman. Zegler is repped by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Hirsch Wallerstein. Badgley is repped by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Hansen Jacobson. Ryan is repped by Untitled Entertainment, Gersh and Brecheen Feldman.
