Spencer King, the indie filmmaker who most recently released the intimate feature The Wilderness, has signed with the production and management firm Rewind Artists.

The filmmaker’s Wilderness stars Wednesday and Evil Dead Burn star Hunter Doohan, and boasted producers including Aaron Paul. Shot over 20 days in Utah and additional five in California, earned strong reviews centered on a teenager who is sent away to a wilderness camp for troubled boys dealing with addiction. The program is led by an enigmatic man (Sam Jaeger), who may have dark intentions.

King already shot his followup, Nickels, starring Odessa A’zion, Aaron Holliday and Rob Riggle. The Apprentice distributor Briarcliff is backing the project.

“What immediately stood out to me in Spencer’s work was his ability to balance intimate character storytelling with cinematic scope in a way that feels both deeply personal and broadly accessible,” said Rewind founder Cory Thompson in a statement. “As Rewind continues expanding its filmmaker roster and development slate, the focus remains on partnering with artists who are building lasting careers through bold storytelling, strong creative identity, and meaningful audience connection, and Spencer fits that vision perfectly.”

King continues to be repped by attorney Jake Levy at Levy Law.
