Netflix UK series and movies have so far outdone themselves 2020s, and as we look ahead to what’s in store for 2027 and beyond, the momentum seems unstoppable. Here’s your ultimate guide to every Netflix UK movie and series on the way following the massive renewals and new commissions news that came through last week.
Of all the Netflix territories, the Netflix UK division has been on a particularly big winning streak in recent years. Projects carrying the torch include Adolescence (which remains the streamer’s biggest limited series ever), Baby Reindeer, and Legends. The UK output has been consistently good, and as we look ahead to 2027 and beyond, there’s a glut of returning favourites — including Black Mirror — and star-studded new additions, such as a drama from the creator of The Crown.
In alphabetical order, we’ve listed all of the upcoming Netflix UK projects. This list has grown much bigger in recent weeks, not least with the huge slate of projects announced at Edinburgh TV Festival. Let’s take a tour.
TV Series Coming to Netflix UK
At Home With the Furys (Season 3)
Currently in production
At Home With the Furys is coming back for a third season. Debuting back in 2023, the series chronicles the behind-the-scenes lives of the Gypsy King, his wife Paris, their children, and his father John. It depicts their personal lives, pulling back the curtain on what it’s really like to be a Fury. The series returned for its second season in 2026.
As of August 2026, filming on Season 3 is underway, depicting Fury’s umpteenth time coming out of retirement to reignite his boxing career.
Being Gordon Ramsay (Season 2)
Currently in production
In 2027, world-famous chef Gordon Ramsay takes us back inside his hectic world and restaurant empire for a second time. The first season of the reality show debuted in February 2026, taking an insular look at Ramsay as he juggles family life and his biggest launch in his entire career — the opening of five culinary experiences in one of London’s tallest buildings, 22 Bishopsgate.
Black Mirror (Season 8)

At this point, sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror is one of Netflix’s tentpole shows. Created by Charlie Brooker, the series is dark, disturbing, and often frighteningly prophetic. Black Mirror reflects the darker, more sinister potential of life, fuelled largely by advancements in technology. The drama holds a mirror up to society, showing us what the world could look like if we continue to harken down a dark and ignorant path. Over the years, Black Mirror has attracted some of the biggest names in the industry, with everyone from Jon Hamm, Miley Cyrus, and Aaron Paul starring in episodes.
The eighth season of Black Mirror began filming in August 2026. Netflix has not yet set a release date, but we expect to see it hit screens in 2027 or early 2028.
Dept. Q (Season 2)

Detective series Department Q (better known as Dept. Q) was a standout drama when it debuted in 2025. In our review, we rated it a very impressive 4 stars out of 5. Based on the best-selling Danish novel The Keeper of Lost Causes by Jussi Adler-Olsen, the series re-locates the original story to Scotland. We follow flawed-but-excellent detective Carl Morck (Matthew Goode), who after a traumatic shootout that killed a cop and paralysed his partner, returns to work to find that he’s been assigned to a new department. He’s to head Department Q — a grungy basement floor, where it’s his task to rekindle cold cases.
Season 2 will see Morck continue to chase cold case mysteries. The upcoming season began filming in Scotland in June 2026. It’s expected to wrap in October 2026, paving the way for a 2027 release.
Grown Ups
Wrapped filming, releasing in 2027
Marian Keyes’ best-selling novel Grown Ups is being adapted into an 8-part family drama at Netflix. Created by Apple Cider Vinegar writer Sam Strauss, the series takes place in South County Dublin, following the unconventional, chaotic, and tight-knit Casey family — specifically the three brothers Johnny, Ed, and Liam.
Grown Ups has put together a stacked cast, including Sarah Greene, Barry Ward (The End of the F***ing World), and Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy).
“I know I’m not alone in being obsessed with every word Marian Keyes has ever written,” Strauss told Netflix. “It is a true life highlight to be trusted with her characters as we bring the Casey family and the world of Grown Ups to Netflix.”
The series began filming in September 2025, and has officially wrapped. Netflix has not yet set a release date.
House of Guinness (Season 2)
Pre-production, will begin filming in 2027
Created by Steven Knight of Peaky Blinders fame, Netflix series House of Guinness pulls back the curtain on one of Ireland’s most famous families: the Guinness family. Yes, Guinness is a world-famous beer, but the family who built the Guinness empire has a complicated, fascinating, and chaotic story that dates back over 200 years. The family dynamics behind the beverage is what period drama House of Guinness explores, and it achieved it brilliantly.
While the viewership for House of Guinness was far from stellar, Netflix has offered it another season, which is particularly big after it ended with a huge cliffhanger.
How to Kill Your Family
Pre-production, expected to begin filming in Fall 2026

Bella Mackie’s novel How to Kill Your Family was a phenomenon when it released back in 2021, becoming one of the biggest summer reads of the year. It seemed only a matter of time before it was going to be developed into a TV series, and five years after its publication, it’s coming to Netflix as an 8-episode series. The adaptation has some serious talent behind it, with Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit) taking on the main character, Grace Bernard. Also involved are Clive Owen (Children of Men, Inside Man), Orlando Norman (Tummy Monster, The Map That Leads to You), and David Shields (Una, Masters of the Air).
The novel is brought to television by showrunner Emma Moran, who is best known as the creator Hulu comedy Extraordinary (2023).
Jig
Filming in 2027
Northern Irish screenwriter Lisa McGee is best known for creating Derry Girls in 2018, a series that projected her into stardom. She returned with a new Irish series at Netflix in 2026 with How to Get to Heaven From Belfast, which while highly-rated, failed to generate enough hype to merit another season. However, McGee has set her sights on new comedy Jig at Netflix. Formatted as a mockumentary, the 6-part series is set in the high-stakes, cutthroat world of competitive Irish dancing, and follows best friends Cara and Fletcher from a struggling Derry dance school as they take on an unbeatable, heavily sponsored rival team from Florida on their way to the World Championships.
Production on Jig is set to commence in Northern Ireland in 2027.
Legends (Season 2)
Filming in 2027
Headlined by acting legend Steve Coogan, crime series Legends was a massive hit on Netflix when it debuted in 2026. Based on true events, Legends takes viewers back to 1990s England to recount the unbelievable story of how a small team of largely untrained customs officers became the most important task force in Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s ‘War on Drugs.’ In our positive review, we rated the series 4 tars out of 5. While it works as a standalone, creator Neil Forsyth is bringing the series back for another 6-episode instalment.
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to tell a new story in the fascinating and unique world that ‘Legends’ offers, and to show just how dangerous, thrilling, and important their work became in the late 1990s,” Forsyth told Variety.
Living the Dream

From BAFTA-nominated creator George Gendi (the man behind beloved cartoon Apple and Onion) and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe comes a sharp new, 8-episode workplace satire. Lending their voices to the series are Julia Davis (Sally4ever) and Ambika Mod (One Day).
The upcoming adult animated series follows two everyday Londoners, Des and Ray, who are convinced they are destined for greatness — but are currently stuck in the mundanity of reality. Instead of living the high life, they are grinding away in the social media department of “Ecofood,” a self-righteous corporate entity where the pay is low and the virtue-signaling is high.
This series was revealed at the 2026 Annecy International Film Festival.
Love is Blind UK (Season 4)
Coming in 2027
Netflix has officially renewed Love is Blind UK for a fourth season with Matt Willis and Emma Willis returning as hosts. Casting for Season 4 closed on 31 August.
Marbles
Filming in 2027
Created by Robert Popper, who’s best known for the wildly popular family comedy Friday Night Dinner, upcoming 6-episode multi-generational family comedy Marbles follows a middle-aged couple squeezed from both ends of life—trying to raise ridiculously lively young boys while caring for difficult aging parents. It has the feel of British family comedy classics, like Friday Night Dinner and Outnumbered.
The series has also assembled a brilliant cast, starring Robert Webb, Timothy Spall, Alexandra Roach, Denise Welch, and Loo Brealey. Filming is expected to begin in 2027.
Outside
Production complete
After becoming one of the most popular creators on YouTube, the Sidemen team is returning to Netflix for a new reality show following on from the success of Inside. Their next show, Outside, takes place beyond the confines of four walls, following a new group of content creators (including Chloe Veitch, Sara Saffari, Matt Morsia, and more) as they are thrown into the forest to battle for a £1 million prize — but very comfort they buy eats into the prize pot.
Filming on the 8-episode season has already wrapped.
Peaky Blinders Sequel Series
Coming to Netflix in 2027
Following the blockbuster feature film, Netflix and the BBC are taking the Peaky Blinders universe into a new decade, with a glorious new cast. The upcoming series sees BAFTA-winning actor Jamie Bell (All of Us Strangers, Rocketman) tackling the role of Tommy Shelby’s oldest son, Duke. Also involved is Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), Jessica Brown Findlay (Harlots, Downton Abbey), and Lashana Lynch (The Day of The Jackal, No Time to Die).
The project has already been given a massive two-season order, and kicked off filming in March 2026. The series has yet to receive an official title, but it has become known within the fandom as Peaky 1954. It is expected to premiere on Netflix in mid-to-late 2027.
Untitled Al Campbell Series
Expected late 2026/early 2027
If that title gives nothing away, allow us to offer some extra context. This project is a 4-part British crime thriller from Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker, with Al Campbell behind the camera.
The description for the series reads: “A gritty detective from the bleak Northern town of Bleakford heads to London, pursuing a ritualistic murderer in a desperate race to stop their killing spree.”
The project filmed throughout 2025, with a cast including former Westeros stars Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) and Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon). The series could release in 2026, although Netflix is yet to offer any further updates. So for this series, it’s very much a case of ‘watch this space.’
Supacell (Season 2)
Expected early 2027
Set in London, 2024 superhero series Supacell was created by Rapman. It follows five South Londoners who inexplicably acquire superpowers, the only connection between them being that they’ve all got a family history of sickle cell disease. With their newfound powers, they struggle to adapt to their daily lives. And when they find each other, they fight against an organisation determined to control them.
Season 2 wrapped filming in mid-2026. Netflix has not set a release date yet. It could sneak in a very late 2026 premiere, although early 2027 seems the most likely release.
Tales of the Unexpected
Currently in production
Netflix’s $700 million Roald Dahl deal isn’t just for the legendary writer’s children’s tales. The streamer is also developing a series about his adult stories. Developed by Danny Brocklehurst (Fool Me Once, Brassic), the upcoming 6-part series adapts Dahl’s iconic, twisted short stories. This series catches the eye particularly with its star-studded cast, which includes Naomi Scott, Imelda Staunton, Nicola Coughlan, Dominic West, Toby Jones, Josh Finan, Carmen Ejogo, Christine Tremarco, Michael Socha, and Clarke Peters.
The official logline reads: Brocklehurst weaves a deliciously twisted tale through Roald Dahl’s iconic short stories. A young couple, marooned in a faded seaside town, navigate conmen, adulterers, murderous mothers and snake charmers as they attempt to escape before their own fate is sealed.
The Boys from Brazil
Expected in early 2027
Esteemed The Crown creator Peter Morgan is bringing Ira Levin’s 1976 classic novel, The Boys from Brazil, to the screen in an upcoming 5-part series. The entire series is directed by Alex Gabassi, a long-time collaborator with Morgan who also worked extensively on The Crown. As expected, it boasts an all-star cast, including Jeremy Strong (Succession), August Diehl (Inglorious Basterds), Daniel Brühl (Rush), and Gillian Anderson (The X-Files).
The Boys from Brazil follows a Holocaust survivor and Nazi hunter Yakov Liebermann on his lifelong crusade to bring Nazi fugitives to justice. He discovers that a sadistic Nazi scientist is orchestrating a project to spark the rise of a Fourth Reich.
The series began filming in December 2025, with the production spanning several nations including the United Kingdom, Germany, Bulgaria, and Spain. Production has officially wrapped. It could sneak into Netflix’s lineup for late 2026, but we expect to see it arrive in early 2027.
The Lords’ Day
Currently in production
Upcoming 6-part spy thriller The Lords’ Day is based on the best-selling novel by Michael Dobbs. Produced by Bad Wolf (Doctor Who), the Netflix adaptation is led by Damson Idris (Snowfall, F1) and also stars British acting legend Timothy Spall, Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones, The Tower), Harry Lawtey (Industry), Arsema Thomas (Queen Charlotte), Sophie Willan (Alma’s Not Normal), and Annabel Scholey (The Split).
The Lords’ Day takes place after the UK government has been taken hostage, and Parliament has since become enemy territory. Thankfully, ex-spy Harry Jones is well-placed to tackle the case — well, he would be if he wasn’t a former convicted traitor.
The series began filming in August 2026 in the Houses of Parliament in London. Shooting has also taken place in Bristol. We expect the series to air in 2027.
The Unheard
Filming in 2027
Screenwriter Jack Thorne is one of the most esteemed writers out there today, working on everything from Adolescence and Lord of the Flies, to Enola Holmes 3. His next project comes in the form of five-episode limited series The Unheard, starring Kate Winslet (Mare of Easttown) and Maxine Peake (Say Nothing).
The series follows two sisters who go on the run after an act of vengeance goes disastrously wrong, forcing them to question what pushed them to this reckless act in the first place. Filming on The Unheard is expected to take place in 2027. We estimate a release date of sometime in 2028.
The Woods
Filming ongoing
Harlan Coben dramas have always been among Netflix’s most reliable series to develop. And occasionally they get huge — look no further than I Will Find You. Next up, the Cobenverse returns to the UK for an adaptation of his 2007 novel, The Woods. Of course, the book has already seen a prior adaptation in 2020, with the 6-episode miniseries set in Warsaw, Poland.
The new, extended 8-episode adaptation is set in the UK and headlined by Michelle Keegan (Fool Me Once) and Tom Bateman (Da Vinci’s Demons). It also stars Rade Sherbedgia (Slow Horses), James Buckley (The Inbetweeners), Mandeep Dhillon (MobLand), Shannon Watson (Outrageous), Dean Fagan (Missed Call), and Tom Allen (Titanique).

Top Boy Universe – Jonny Boy/Jaq (Working title)
Filming in 2027
Revealed at the Edinburgh TV Festival in August 2026, Saltburn and Banshees of Inisherin star Barry Keoghan will return as Jonny McGee in Jonny Boy, a five-episode prequel series to the BAFTA-winning British crime drama Top Boy, which ran for 5 seasons between 2011 and 2023. The prequel will follow Keoghan’s character Jonny McGee, a drug distributor for a the Irish crime syndicate, working for his uncle, Tadgh McGee (Brian Gleeson). Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett is making the prequel, alongside Aubrey Graham (better known by his stage name Drake) as executive producer. Keoghan will serve as an executive producer too. Also involved is Ali Abbasi (The Apprentice, The Last of Us), who has joined the project as a director.
In addition to Jonny Boy, Netflix also announced another spinoff series centred on Jaq, with Jasmine Jobson set to return. It is created and written by Ryan Calais Cameron, who is best known for the play For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy. Ronan Bennett is also serving as an executive producer on this series.
Both of these spinoff projects will begin filming in 2027.
Movies Coming to Netflix UK
Bad Bridgets
Currently in Production, Expected in 2027
Produced by Margot Robbie and created by Rich Peppiatt, Bad Bridgets comes from a powerhouse team — and the cast isn’t bad either. The movie is headlined by Emilia Jones (CODA) and Alison Oliver (Saltburn), with a star-studded supporting cast including Colin Farrell, Steve Coogan, Domhnall Gleeson, Charlie Heaton, Himesh Patel, Niamh Algar, and Simone Kirby.
Based on the historical book by Elaine Farrell and Leanne McCormick, Bad Bridgets follows a young Irish woman whose mysterious ticket to escape leads her to 1800s New York. However, rather than a quiet new life, she finds herself pulled into the unruly, chaotic, and criminal underworld of the “Bridgets”—a real-life moniker given to notorious Irish emigrant women of the era.
