Gold Derby is serving up Big Brother 28 spoilers all summer long. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
Heading into the landmark 1,000th episode of Big Brother on Aug. 27, Survivor winner Dee Valladares had fully dismantled the newly formed Mosh Pit alliance with either Drew Campbell or Mallory Aurichio as her targets for eviction. Due to a $5K deal with Yash Patel that kept him off her block in exchange for keeping all three icons safe during his own future Head of Household, Dee was forced chose to turn on an ally who she only exchanges one two words with on a daily basis anyway. Dee’s bold move meant that either Drew, Mallory, or Taylor Brown would be the seventh person voted out of BB28.
Let’s break down the key highlights from Thursday night, from the live eviction to the new Head of Household, beginning with:
Episode 1,000

In celebration of the 1,000th episode, Julie Chen Moonves hit play on an epic montage of some of the most iconic moments from 28 seasons of the series, including the Dan Gheesling funeral which was voted by the audience as the “favorite moment.” Other fan voting results are Janelle Pierzina as the “best to never win” and “favorite comp beast,” the Cookout as “favorite alliance,” Rachel Reilly’s “floaters, grab a life vest” as “favorite iconic quote,” and the Season 10 champ Dan as “favorite winner.”
In addition, Guinness World Records adjudicator Michael Emperic dropped by to announce and certify that Big Brother became the title holder for “most episodes of a primetime TV show” and “most episodes of a competitive reality TV show” with this 1,000th episode.
Block Buster

Getting back into Season 28, Drew, Mallory and Taylor competed in the live Block Buster competition “BB Grand Cliptacular” to immediately remove themselves from the nomination chairs. The three nominees raced to decode clues and clips from BB seasons past and buzz in the correct answer first. Drew was the first to lock in an answer, well before the third clue was even displayed, and because it was correct he became a voter in the eviction instead of a nominee.
Live Eviction

After hearing pitches to stay from Taylor and Mallory, the eligible houseguests voted live for who they wanted evicted from the game. By a vote of 6-2, Mallory was evicted with only two of her F.A.P. alliance members (Melody and Barrett) voting to protect her. “I expected a little bit,” she said about Drew’s vote against her, knowing that he was playing a game to keep the icons happy. She added that she’s “not the biggest fan” of Dee and thinks she made more enemies than she needed to.
HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD
After cautioning the audience that the live feeds will be down until after Sunday’s episode, Julie provided a sneak peek of the next game-changing twist. Series legends Britney Haynes, Tiffany Mitchell, Keanu Soto, and Cody Calafiore will play an element in the competition that will determine which members of the house make it to at least jury. The host also revealed that there will be no official Head of Household, Veto, or Block Buster this week, but that someone would still be going home.
Stay tuned to this article as we’ll update it when the news is announced on Sunday night.
AFTER-PARTY

In celebration of the 1,000th episode, dozens of former houseguests joined Julie and crew members for a reception on the CBS lot. Gold Derby noticed everyone from Season 1’s “Chicken George” Boswell to Season 28’s Jason De Puy, aka Salina EsTitties from RuPaul’s Drag Race.
At the cake-cutting ceremony, the host gave a special shout-out to Don Wollman, the “voice” of Big Brother who’s been a part of the show since Day 1. She told the crowd how “none of us thought” the show would ever reach 1,000 episodes, adding, “But you know who knew we’d all be here tonight? The Lord!”
Julie also recognized the three former houseguests who’ve passed away: Season 1’s Cassandra Waldon, Season 2’s Kent Blackwelder, and Season 27’s Mickey Lee: “I want to honor them tonight and say thank you for playing, and I’ll see you when I get up there.”
During the reception, BB legend Rachel Reilly faced off against the velociraptor who threw her into a volcano in the Season 28 premiere. “Wait a second, I have words to say to you!” she screamed while surrounded by other alums. “Why are you so obsessed with me?”
Some of the BB legends included Jessie Godderz, Azäh Awasum, Kyland Young, Paul Abrahamian, Quinn Martin, Leah Peters, Hannah Chaddha, Felicia Cannon, Morgan Pope, Janelle Pierzina DeSanto, Julie Chen Moonves, Tiffany Mitchell, Cameron Hardin, Josh Martinez, Rachel Reilly Villegas, Derek Frazer, Xavier Prather, Brittney Haynes Godwin, Chelsie Baham, Keanu Soto, Vince Panaro, Derek Levasseur, Taylor Hale, George Boswell, Derek Frazier, Jasoon De Puy, Kaycee Clark, Cody Calafiore, Allison Grodner, Rich Meehan, and Shawn Laws O’Neil.
