Netflix is teaming up with some of the biggest names in modern horror and sci-fi for its latest young adult venture, Sid & Zoey. Blending supernatural scares with a gothic romance, this highly anticipated eight-part series comes from creator Jon Kasdan alongside powerhouse producers at Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Bad Robot. Here is everything we know so far about the series so far.
Following a highly competitive bidding war, Netflix has officially greenlit Sid & Zoey, an eight-part young adult supernatural horror romance. The new series, part of the streamer’s expanding wave of YA content, is created by Jon Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story), who will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
Kasdan is backed by a powerhouse team of executive producers. Jason Blum, James Wan, and Rob Hackett are on board, representing Blumhouse Atomic Monster, the modern horror titans behind The Conjuring franchise and the recent viral hit Obsession. Also producing are J.J. Abrams (Star Trek), Rachel Rusch Rich (Castle Rock), and John Shiban (Ozark) for Bad Robot.

What is the plot of Sid & Zoey?
Netflix has released a logline for the series:
“The series will follow Sid, a seductive, sophisticated, and amoral teenager from New York, as he’s sent to live with a police chief and his family in the idyllic Mississippi town where his mother grew up. Among them is the chief’s sharp-witted, punk-rock daughter, Zoey. Resisting their mutual attraction, Sid and Zoey find themselves drawn into a dark, hidden world beneath the town’s picture-postcard facade — and a paranormal puzzle that may well get them killed (if they don’t kill each other first). It’s a fish-out-of-water tale focused on an unlikely pair with plenty of scares.”
