When Does The New Season of ‘Tracker’ Start? Retired Propane Salesman Hank Hill Has The Answer

Tracker is on the move.

The popular CBS series headlined by Justin Hartley is relocating from Vancouver to Los Angeles for its upcoming fourth season. Deadline reports that the show was awarded the “biggest California tax credit for a series to date,” receiving “$48M on $129M in qualified expenditures.”

“I’m proud of what we built in Vancouver. I’m also very excited we’re bringing Tracker to L.A.,” series star Hartley said. “I’m looking forward to continuing to tell these stories alongside the new, fresh places we’ll be heading to next. Most importantly, I want to thank the fans for showing up for us every step of the way. We couldn’t do this without you.”

We know where the fourth season was shot, but when exactly does Tracker Season 4 premiere on CBS? To answer that question, we’re getting an assist from a TV legend: Hank Rutherford Hill from King of the Hill. Are you intrigued? Possibly. Are you confused? Almost certainly.

Here’s when Tracker Season 4 debuts on CBS.

Tracker Season 4 Cast Update:

It was recently announced that Sarah Jane Morris (The Pitt, NCIS) would be appearing in the upcoming fourth season of Tracker in a guest-starring role. Morris will portray Leanne, a hiker attacked while trying to help her injured daughter.

When Does Tracker Return With New Episodes?

Great question. Sure, you could learn the answer from me, a boring writer, or you could discover the information from one of the most exciting TV characters in pop culture history: former propane salesman Hank Hill*.

Earlier this month, King of the Hill returned with all-new episodes. The classic animated sitcom hasn’t missed a beat, and despite the show airing on Hulu and Disney+, Hank offered an update on the return date of Tracker, a CBS series.

In Season 15, Episode 4 (“Hank Encounters of the Nerd Kind”), Hank gets into an argument with a Zolomarian Imperial Officer while helping Bobby with his food truck at the Dallas Sci-Fi Convention. You know, classic King of the Hill shenanigans.

During the altercation, the man, voiced by Emmy winner Paul Walter Hauser, tries to throw Hank off his game with what he perceives to be an insult: “Why don’t you go back to your Tracker convention?”

But Hank responds with a perfect matter-of-fact retort:

As usual, Hank’s correct. Tracker does indeed return this fall with new episodes.

I would have also included an image of the setup, but Hulu’s closed captioning says “tractor convention” instead of “Tracker convention,” proving that the Disney closed captioning department is decidedly not a fan of any and all shows featuring Justin Hartley using his extensive tracking skills and boyish good looks to help find missing people.

When Is The Tracker Season 4 Release Date?

Our old pal Hank gave us the timeframe, but we can confirm that the Season 4 premiere of Tracker debuts Sunday, October 4 at 9:30 p.m. ET on CBS.

October 4 is the start of “CBS Premiere Week,” which also includes the Season 2 debut of Marshals at 8:30 p.m. ET. Marshals and Tracker move to their regular 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. ET time slots the following week (October 11).

How To Watch New Episodes of Tracker:

New episodes of Tracker will air live on CBS. You can watch the network live with a valid cable login, or an active subscription to DIRECTV, FuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, or Paramount+ Premium. New episodes will be available for next-day streaming for Paramount Essential subscribers.

Paramount+ offers two subscription plans, Essential and Premium. Right now, you can get started with a seven-day free trial on the Premium plan.

The ad-supported Essential plan typically costs $8.99/month, while the ad-free Premium plan (which comes with Showtime titles and live CBS) costs $13.99/month.

Tracker Season 4 debuts Sunday, October 4 at 9:30 p.m. ET on CBS.

*Hank also sold propane accessories.
