No, you’re not going crazy. The 2026 Emmys are still scheduled for Sept. 5–6 (Creative Arts) and Sept. 14 (Primetime). However, the Television Academy announced today that The Traitors, The Masked Singer, Eyes of Wakanda, and Star Wars: Visions are among the early juried winners for the 78th annual ceremony.
Per the Emmys: “Juried category entrants are screened by a panel of professionals in the appropriate peer groups (Animation, Costume Design, Emerging Media Programming, and Motion and Title Design) with the possibility of one, more than one, or no entry awarded an Emmy. As a result, there are no nominees but instead a one-step evaluation and voting procedure. Deliberations include open discussions of each entrant’s work with a thorough review of the merits of awarding the Emmy.”
The Traitors won Best Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Programming thanks to the buzzed-about “The Black Banquet” episode. Host Alan Cumming and the cast members dressed in elegant regal attire as they feasted in the castle’s banquet hall under threat of being poisoned. This is the eighth Emmy for Peacock’s cutthroat reality TV competition series; it has six more nominations this year.

The Masked Singer won the same costume category for its Season 14 premiere, its third Emmy overall. The episode introduced such wild and wacky characters as Galaxy Girl, Handyman, Pugcasso, Queen Corgi, and Scarab. Ultimately, Galaxy Girl was crowned the season’s winner and unmasked to reveal singer-actress Ashlee Simpson.
There are five Emmy winners for Best Individual Achievement in Animation, including Eyes of Wakanda from the Marvel television universe and Star Wars: Visions from the Star Wars streaming franchise. Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal (for both “Kingdom of Sorrow” and “Vengeance of Death”) and The Mighty Nein complete the lineup.
A single champion was awarded for Best Innovation in Emerging Media Programming: the virtual reality game Crafting Crimes from Meta Quest and TARGO. And no winner was announced for Best Motion Design.
