When Will ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Stream on Netflix?

Tom Holland’s Peter Parker has officially returned and to rave reviews. Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters today, July 31st, 2026, launching an exciting new era for the web-slinger. But if you’re planning to skip the multiplex and wait for streaming, when exactly will the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie be on Netflix? Here’s our comprehensive release prediction for the US and the rest of the world.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the highly anticipated fourth solo outing picks up the pieces after the emotional devastation of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. With Peter now navigating life as a street-level hero in a world that no longer remembers him, Brand New Day is already tracking to be one of the biggest box-office juggernauts of 2026, with it already generating huge box office numbers.

Because the movie is distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment, its streaming future is bound by the massive output deals the studio has with Netflix. Here is everything you need to know about when you can expect it to drop.

When will Spider-Man: Brand New Day be on Netflix US?

Since 2022, Netflix has held the highly coveted “Pay-1” window rights to all Sony Pictures movies in the United States. That means once a Sony film finishes its exclusive theatrical and PVOD (Premium Video on Demand) run, Netflix becomes its exclusive streaming home.

So, how long is that window?

Typically, we see Sony movies land on Netflix exactly 120 days after their theatrical release. We recently saw this exact timeline play out with the sports drama GOAT, which strictly adhered to the standard four-month turnaround.

If Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows this exact 120-day playbook, it will hit Netflix US on November 28th, 2026—just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend!

However, we have to factor in the “blockbuster tax.” Sony occasionally extends the theatrical and PVOD windows for its massive hits to maximize digital revenue. For context, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse took 151 days to hit the platform. If Sony decides to hold this one back slightly, a release date anywhere between late December 2026 and February 2027 is very possible (and some box-office analysts are already projecting a February 2027 streaming debut).

Ad-Tier Subscribers Rejoice!

Historically, some major studio releases were blocked for users on Netflix’s ad-supported plans due to complex licensing agreements. But as we recently covered, Netflix finally ironed out those wrinkles and officially unlocked Sony Pictures movies for the ad-tier! Whenever Brand New Day drops, all Netflix US subscribers will be able to watch it, regardless of their plan.

When will Spider-Man: Brand New Day stream on Netflix Internationally?

Here is where we have some bad news for international Spider-Man fans.

As we recently broke, Netflix and Sony struck a massive global deal that brings Sony’s theatrical slate to Netflix regions worldwide in the first window. However, that deal only applies to movies released theatrically in 2027 and beyond (like the upcoming live-action Zelda movie).

Because Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a 2026 theatrical release, it is bound by Sony’s old, highly fragmented regional legacy contracts. That means your wait time depends entirely on where you live:

  • India and Select Asian Territories (First Window): Countries like India, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines generally share the first-window rights similar to the US. You can expect to see the movie arrive roughly around the same time as the US, likely between late November 2026 and early 2027.
  • The UK and Canada (Pay-2 Window): Unfortunately for subscribers in the UK and Canada, Sony has existing first-window deals with local streaming competitors (like Sky/NOW in the UK and Crave in Canada). Netflix will eventually get the movie, but only during the Pay-2 window. This usually means waiting up to two years after the theatrical release, putting the likely Netflix release date around Summer 2028.
  • Australia and Europe: Much like the UK, many European nations and Australia have their own localized first-window deals (like Binge/Foxtel in Australia). Expect a similar 18-to-24-month wait for it to finally swing onto Netflix in these regions.

It is a frustrating wait for international fans, but Brand New Day will be the very last Spider-Man movie to suffer from this fragmented release schedule before the 2027 global deal kicks in.

We’ll keep this post updated the second we get official confirmation from Sony or Netflix regarding the exact release dates.

Are you heading out to the cinemas this weekend to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day, or will you be holding out for the Netflix release? Let us know in the comments below!
