The exciting webtoon adaptation of Field Mouse could be coming to Netflix on August 28, 2026! Given the alternate title of Mousetrap, the K-drama will star Sul Kyung Gu and Ryu Jun Yeol. Here’s everything we know about Mousetrap on Netflix.

Mousetrap (formerly titled The Rat) is an upcoming South Korean Netflix Original thriller directed by Kim Hong Seon. It is the adaptation of the South Korean webtoon Field Mouse by Ludvico.


When is the Netflix release date for Mousetrap?

We have confirmation that Mousetrap is coming to Netflix in August 2026. While Netflix has yet to formally announce the release date, we are confident the series will be released on August 28, 2026, as other online sources have reported.

What is the plot of Mousetrap?

A synopsis has been provided for Mousetrap:

“Moon Jae, a reclusive writer, finds that the fingerprint recognition on his phone fails, and even the friend who had helped him manage everything disappears. With no way left to prove that he is truly Moon Jae, he learns that a mysterious person called “Rat” has taken his name, identity, and fortune. Determined to reclaim his life, he begins to pursue him.”

Who are the cast members of Mousetrap?

Ryu Jun Yeol plays Je Mun Jae. The actor previously starred in the Netflix K-drama The 8 Show. He previously starred in leading roles in K-dramas such as Lost, Lucky Romance, and Reply 1988. He has also starred in films such as Alienoid, Little Forest, A Taxi Driver, and Money.

The character of Je Mun Jae has been described as:

“A novelist living in isolation due to social phobia. Leading a quiet life, the same every day, Moon Jae suddenly finds himself stripped of everything by the mysterious “Rat”.”

Sul Kyung Gu plays No Ja. The actor starred in the Netflix K-drama The Whirlwind. He has predominantly starred in films over dramas, having starred in Netflix’s Mantis and Kill Bok Soon. He also starred in The Moon, Kingmaker, and The Book of Fish.

The character of No Ja has been described as:

“A loan shark who also runs a private detective agency and will do anything for money. No Ja has been tracking Moon Jae since he disappeared after borrowing money, and when he willingly shows up three years later, Moon Jae asks for his help in uncovering the identity of the “Rat.” Drawn in by the chance to recover his money, No Ja becomes entangled in the case.”
