We’re still about two months away from the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, but the iconic late-night sketch series made headlines last week when impressionist extraordinaire Chloe Fineman announced she’d be leaving the series after seven seasons.
Fineman decided to depart the long-running NBC sketch show “just hours after she was offered a role” on David E. Kelley’s upcoming Netflix drama, Myron Bolitar, Page Six reports. We don’t have any additional updates on who’s leaving the cast, with additional departures along with a few new hires most likely taking place in mid-to-late August.
Now that Season 51 of SNL is officially in the books, I find myself still thinking about Jeremy Culhane’s sensational Tucker Carlson impression, Ashley Padilla’s breakout season, Veronika Slowikowska’s strong rookie campaign, and Jane Wickline’s performance in “Play Date” and “Winter Olympics Promo.” When exactly can we expect Saturday Night Live to return with new episodes? Here’s everything we know.
Is SNL New Tonight (July 25)?
Nope. Sadly, tonight’s episode of Saturday Night Live is a repeat.
Is Saturday Night Live Season 51 Over?
Yep. The Will Ferrell-hosted season finale aired Saturday, May 16 on NBC.
When Does Saturday Night Live Return With New Episodes in 2026?
An official release date has yet to be announced, but new seasons of Saturday Night Live tend to premiere on the last Saturday of September or the first Saturday of October. Season 52 of SNL should debut in late September or early October of 2026.
