Weekends just aren’t the same without new episodes of Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s Yellowstone spin-off, Dutton Ranch…
Last week, the eventful Episode 9, “El Padrino,” delivered a shocking main character death, saw Joaquin’s (Juan Pablo Raba) father Mariano (Raoul Max Trujillo) make his highly-anticipated Rio Paloma return, and left off on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger that put one of the show’s most beloved characters in danger. So naturally, fans are desperate for more Dutton drama.

When Does The New Season Of Dutton Ranch Come Out? Dutton Ranch Season 2 Release Date Info:
Since Dutton Ranch Season 1 just wrapped, there’s no official Dutton Ranch Season 2 premiere date on the books yet. And we still have a little PTSD from the almost two-year gap between Yellowstone Season 5, Part 1 and Part 2.
We know Sheridan-verse show turnaround times vary depending on several factors, but the fact that Dutton Ranch has already found a new showrunner is a promising sign. (More on this below!) Per The Hollywood Reporter, filming is expected to begin in early 2027, so if all goes well fingers crossed we could get new episodes before the year’s end. Reilly also told the outlet that Sheridan will be involved in Season 2.
“We talk to him now about what the next season could be, and he wants to be involved,” Reilly said. “So that feels like we earned this second season from all the work we’ve done before, and that’s the thing I’m most proud of.” We’ll learn more about Dutton Ranch‘s Season 2 timeline in the coming months, so stay tuned for more updates!
Dutton Ranch Showrunner Change: Benjamin Cavell Is Taking The Reins
While Dutton Ranch Season 2 details are under wraps, we know when the series returns it will have a new showrunner, Benjamin Cavell, as Chad Feehan departed the series three weeks before its premiere.
Will There Be A Dutton Ranch And Marshals Crossover?
If you’ve watched both Yellowstone spinoffs, Dutton Ranch and the Luke Grimes-led Marshals, you know that both Season 1 finales set the stage for an epic crossover event. You can read all about why here, but essentially Marshals Season 1 ended on May 24 with Kayce’s son, Tate, in danger after unknowingly hopping a plane to Texas with Season 1 antagonist Tom Weaver (Chris Mulkey). And Dutton Ranch Season 1 ended on July 3 with the cartel kidnapping Beth and Rip’s son Carter.
When asked if the similar endings — which theoretically meant both boys would be kidnapped in Texas — were planned, Reilly reportedly smiled and told TV Insider, “Maybe.” So it sounds like a Beth and Kayce reunion could be a very real possibility. Read Decider’s full Dutton Ranch/Marshals crossover breakdown for more comments from Reilly and Hauser.
