Gold Derby is serving up Big Brother 28 spoilers all summer long. Read at your own risk!
Mallory Aurichio, Taylor Brown, and Yash Patel are currently sitting on the block courtesy of Head of Household Dee Valladares, and they’re all handling it differently. Mallory and Taylor (to a lesser degree) have each had their own private meltdowns over the nomination — understandable, considering it’s Week 1 and they’re already fighting for survival. Yash, meanwhile, seems perfectly content with his situation. Why, you ask? For starters, the guy was an alternate who slid into the game at the last minute. If you’re going to be on the block in Week 1, might as well enjoy the ride.

Power of Veto
So how did the Power of Veto play out? Barrett Pfeiffer and Melody Morris were picked to play alongside Dee and the three nominees.

Check back to find out who won the Power of Veto later today (Saturday, July 11). We’ll update you as soon as the live feeds return! Whoever prevails will have the opportunity to keep nominations the same, or remove Mallory, Taylor, or Yash from the block, forcing Dee to name a replacement.
Showmance Alert
Meanwhile, Season 28’s first showmance has already sprouted, and it’s even more nauseating than we could’ve possibly braced for. It’s only Day 5, and Rome Seymour and Lyric Medeiros are inseparable. Rome is now asking Lyric if this is going to “work in the outside world.” Day. Five. And it gets worse — in one clip making the rounds, Lyric asks Rome, while they’re lying in bed together, to list off everything he loves about her. Ew.
House Target
Various conversations have been swirling around the house, but the opinion that matters most right now belongs to Dee. A lot can still change before Thursday’s live eviction — including the all-important BB Block Buster — but as of now, the reigning HOH seems to be pushing for Mallory’s eviction. She’s not alone in that read, either — in one clip making the rounds, Kamu Kirk is right there agreeing with Dee that Mallory should be the first one out.
Jason De Puy and Taylor are among those who don’t see Mallory as any kind of threat. We’ll have to wait and see how this plays out.
And remember — you can be on the block Week 1 and still find your way to the $750,000 prize. Just ask Ashley Hollis!
Stay tuned for more spoilers, including how the Power of Veto was used and who — if anyone — was put up as a replacement nominee.
