Gold Derby is serving up Big Brother 28 spoilers all summer long. Read at your own risk!
The wait is over. After enduring life without any new Big Brother for over 280 days, the doors to everyone’s favorite reality TV house were finally opened on Thursday. The first 16 houseguests of Season 28 were introduced during the 90-minute premiere, including BB star Angela Murray, Survivor legend Rick Devens, and Jason De Puy, aka Salina EsTitties from RuPaul’s Drag Race.
At the end of the episode, a 17th contestant was teased, but not revealed, when host Julie Chen Moonves traveled via the Time Table to Dec. 20, 2023, in order to welcome the final player. That specific date means it can only be one person.
We think the 17th houseguest is … Dee Valladares!

Reality TV viewers already know Dee very well. She won Survivor 45 on — you guessed it — Dec. 20, 2023. She also competed earlier this year on Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans where she was the 10th person out and the first member of the jury. And she took part on The Challenge: Vets & New Threats where she was eliminated in the 12th episode.
Dee and Rick just competed together on the Survivor island in Season 50, but they were never in a tight alliance. In fact, Rick helped vote her out on Day 15. It’ll be interesting to see whether they’ll decide to work together — perhaps with Angela and Jason as a reality TV squad — or go after each other.
Also during the BB28 premiere, Rachel Reilly appeared to return to the game for another shot at the prize money. Unfortunately, she was “killed” when a dinosaur forced her into a volcano. That prompted this instantly iconic reaction from Julie: “Just moments ago, a velociraptor threw Rachel into a volcano. So, what does it mean for the others?”

But, of course, Rachel was never truly the 17th houseguest. Her appearance was all in good fun, and to keep the others on their toes. Rachel is a Big Brother legend who won Season 13 and also competed on Seasons 12 and 27. Last year, her elimination at the hands of a hamster wheel — and not via a normal vote — sent shockwaves through the fandom.
Tune in to Big Brother: Unlocked tonight on CBS to see hosts Jerry O’Connell, Taylor Hale, and Derrick Levasseur officially announce the identity of the 17th houseguest, who we believe to be Dee Valladares. Then, see who wins the first Head of Household of the summer on Sunday night.
