Curious if Brilliant Minds will return with new episodes after that jaw-dropping cliffhanger? On May 1, in the middle of Brilliant Minds‘s second season run, NBC quietly confirmed that the series was canceled and would not return after its remaining Season 2 episodes aired. A decline in ratings reportedly contributed to the decision, but Liza Katz, President of Scripted Content at NBCUniversal, told Deadline that folks at the network still wanted to let fans to see the rest of the season.
“…Creatively we love the show, and are really proud of the show, and think that the fans deserve to see how the story ends,” Katz explained. “It has a great, very satisfying ending. So we’d like to have the opportunity for the fans of the show, of which there are still many, to be able to see it and finish the story with the characters.”
While fans and cast members were hopeful the series could find a new home, we have yet to hear new updates. But fingers crossed there’s a way to bring Brilliant Minds back to life — at least long enough to end on its own terms!
