It’s been a week since someone got a job, someone got fired, someone got punched, someone finally took “some fucking PTO,” and someone accidentally saw their two pals locking lips for the first time on Mindy Kaling’s hit Hulu series, Not Suitable for Work. And needless to say, fans want more!

Not Suitable for Work Episode 9 leaves fans with the feeling that there’s lots more of AJ (Ella Hunt), Abby (Avantika), Davis (Will Angus), Josh (Jack Martin), and Kel’s (Nicholas Duvernay) stories to tell — especially after that simultaneously swoon-worthy and sad cliffhanger! (IYKYK) The question is, will Not Suitable for Work return with more new episodes? And if so, when? Or is this the end of our time with the charming new hangout comedy?

Is there a new episode of Not Suitable for Work on tonight, Monday, June 29 or Tuesday, June 30? How many episodes are in Not Suitable for Work Season 1? And will there be Not Suitable for Work Season 2?

Here’s everything we know about the future of Not Suitable for Work, including Season 2 renewal status, premiere date info, and more.

Is There A New Episode Of Not Suitable for Work This Week On Hulu?

Unfortunately, no. If fans are hoping to catch a new episode of Not Suitable for Work on Monday, June 29 or Tuesday, June 30, they’re out of luck. Why? Well…

How Many Episodes Are In Not Suitable for Work? Is Not Suitable for Work Over?

Not Suitable for Work Season 1 consists of nine episodes total. That means Not Suitable for Work Season 1 is over.

Will There Be A Not Suitable for Work Season 2 on Hulu? Is Not Suitable for Work Renewed?

Ahead of Not Suitable for Work’s June 23 finale, Hulu had yet to officially green light a Season 2, but that’s not to say it won’t happen. Not Suitable for Work only received a 52% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but considering creator Mindy Kaling’s streaming success and the warm reception the show’s getting from fans, we have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of NSFW.

No spoilers yet, but when the end credits roll on Season 1’s finale there’s some serious Season 2 potential. Hangout comedies are obviously designed to run multiple seasons, but at the end of the day, the decision will ultimately rely on viewership numbers. So stay tuned for updates and read on for more info…

When Will Not Suitable for Work Return With New Episodes? Not Suitable for Work Season 2 Premiere Date Info:

Since Not Suitable for Work hasn’t been officially renewed yet, there’s no NSFW Season 2 premiere date on the books right now. But if Mindy Kaling’s Running Point release dates are any indication of her desired turnaround, we have high hopes that we could get new episodes of NSFW in 2027.

Running Point‘s 10-episode Season 1 premiered on Netflix in February 2025 and Season 2’s 10 episodes dropped in April 2026, so if NSFW Season 2 is green-lit in a timely manner and production starts shortly after, here’s hoping we wouldn’t have to wait much longer than a year to reunite with the roomies.

If you’re looking for a detailed Not Suitable for Work finale recap, Decider’s got you covered. But with Season 2 storylines in mind, here’s what you need to know:

Abby and Josh are professionally thriving! After Vanessa (Constance Wu) stopped by Abby’s retail job on New Year’s Eve, she agreed to rehire her as her assistant so long as she never crossed her again. Meanwhile, Josh landed Wes Dryden’s (Victor Garber) an appearance on Hannah And Paige Drop The Ball and helped him nail the New Year’s Eve show. So he’s in everyone’s good graces!

Not doing so great at work? Kel, who got fired from his teaching job. On the bright side, he slayed his play! And he’s got his eyes on a new girl! (Though we’re still shipping him and Abby.) And, uh, Davis was fired after punching Bill for dumping AJ and going on a holiday vacation with his ex girlfriend. Work-wise, he’s got a lot to figure out. But in the romance department, he’s thriving! The season ended with him admitting his feelings for AJ and the two finally kissing. We almost got a happy ending, but with seconds to spare in the season Josh walked up behind them, clocked the kiss, and snuck back to his apartment visibly crushed! Needless to say, there’s lots to explore in a potential NSFW Season 2, including what’s sure to be two major love triangles — a Mindy Kaling specialty!
