EXCLUSIVE: Kent Moran‘s psychological thriller The One, which he’s writing, directing and starring in, has set Emily Kinney (The Walking Dead, Masters of Sex), Hayley McFarland (The Conjuring, Lie to Me), Zach Roerig (The Vampire Diaries, Friday Night Lights) and Catherine Curtin (Stranger Things, Orange Is the New Black).
The Wishing Well Pictures production follows Jackie (Kinney), a successful entrepreneur searching for lasting love. When she begins a whirlwind romance with the seemingly perfect Colt, she believes she may have finally found “the one.” But after ending the relationship, Jackie discovers Colt’s obsession runs far deeper than she imagined, setting off a dangerous game of control, manipulation and survival.
“I’m thrilled to be collaborating with such an extraordinary cast,” said Moran. “At its core, The One examines how the desire for connection can become distorted into something far more dangerous. It’s an intimate thriller driven by complex characters, and I’m excited to bring that story to life with this team.”
Filming is currently taking place in Stamford and Greenwich, CT, and will continue through late June. The One is being produced by Angela Ostermeier, Kent Moran and Kat Moran.
As an actor, Moran has starred in films including The Challenger opposite Michael Clarke Duncan, Redemption in Cherry Springs, Listen to Your Heart, Contest and Regret.
Moran is represented by Universal Talent Management, Kinney by Paradigm and Gilbertson Entertainment, McFarland by Joseph Le Talent Agency and Link Entertainment, Roerig by Innovative Artists, and Curtin by Artists & Representatives.
