EXCLUSIVE: Stephen Lang has joined the cast of director Kevin Lewis‘ upcoming supernatural horror film Mercy Good, from Stoic Films.
Written by Michael Caissie (Hangman, Hunter’s Moon) and directed by Lewis (Willy’s Wonderland), Mercy Good follows a family that relocates to Salem, Massachusetts for a fresh start, only to discover their historic home may be tied to a centuries-old supernatural force waiting to return
Lang (Avatar, Don’t Breathe) will play Henry Woodward, a respected local historian with knowledge of Salem’s dark past that could hold the key to the family’s terrifying ordeal.
Set to begin filming in Kentucky this September, Caissie is producing via Stoic Films, with Clayton Turnage also producing, along with executive producers Monika Simeonova, Jeffrey Goldberg, and Chris Cole.
“Stephen has a rare ability to bring intelligence, authenticity, and emotional truth to every role he takes on,” said Caissie. “Henry carries much of the weight of Mercy Good‘s mythology, but what makes the character work is his humanity. I knew Stephen could bring both to the role.”
Last year, Lang reprised his role as Colonel Miles Quaritch in Avatar: Fire and Ash. His credits also include Don’t Breathe (2016), The Optimist (2023) and Hellfire (2026), as well as the upcoming film Eyes Along the Valley.
Caissie’s previous credits include Hangman, starring Al Pacino and Karl Urban, Hunter’s Moon, starring Thomas Jane, and the recently released No Tears in Hell, with Stoic’s upcoming slate featuring the Sean Paul Piccicino-directed action thriller Serpent Road.
Lang is represented by Innovative Artists Entertainment, Caissie by Jeffrey Goldberg Management.
