MasterChef: Global Gauntlet is turning up the heat — and pride is on the line.
In this week’s “World Cup Cook-off” episode, Gordon Ramsay, Tiffany Derry, and Joe Bastianich trade their chef’s whites for jerseys as the MasterChef kitchen transforms into a backyard barbeque. The home cooks must take their country’s game-time cravings and elevate them into something worthy of a FIFA World Cup watch party.
With the four global territories — Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Americas — still fighting for dominance, this challenge will channel family, culture, and pride. One cook will rise above the rest. The others? At least one home cook will be heading home.

The Challenge
Nothing says World Cup kickoff like a good watch party — and Home Depot has brought one straight to the MasterChef studio. Tonight, the home cooks must create a dish perfect for the occasion. “I’m not talking about finger foods,” Tiffany warns. “We want plated meals.” Joe adds: “Make something that is totally unique to your culture and territory.” They have one hour.
The best dish tonight wins the immunity pin and a $2,500 Home Depot gift card. The worst cook? See ya!
But there’s a twist. Dave, last week’s immunity pin winner, gets to watch safely from the balcony — and he’s been handed a “red card.” At halftime, he can bench one cook from the challenge, making them automatically safe. It’s a double-edged sword: pull a strong cook from a rival territory and you weaken their chances, but Dave could also use it to rescue someone on his own team who’s struggling.
Dave opts to bench his own teammate Rita from Team Africa. Her dish wasn’t looking strong — but that leaves Heidi and Peter in a tough spot. One of them is now guaranteed to land in the Bottom 3 unless they win top dish.
Top Dishes
Jaime (Team Asia-Pacific)
Dish: Roti Canai with Malaysian Curry, Coconut Rice, and Cucumber & Pineapple Salad
Gordon: “Traditionally that takes hours to make. The fact that you had the confidence to attempt it tonight — I’m just happy for you.”
Tiffany: “It all goes so nicely together. Spot-on.”
Joe: “It’s the perfect watch party. The three of us watching you cook an excellent dish.”
Julia (Europe)
Dish: Pan-Seared Scallops with Eggplant Puree, Fennel Salad, and Lemon Caper Sauce
Gordon: “We’re looking for the best dish of the night and that is definitely up there.”
Tiffany: “Definitely not something I’ve had at a watch party, but I’m not mad if it shows up. Beautiful.”
Joe: “Unusual, but very well done. Good job.”
Heidi (Africa)
Dish: New York Strip Steak with Cream Pepper Sauce, Seared Scallops, Cauliflower & Leek Puree, and Roasted Potatoes
Gordon: “You cook with poise. It looks so good.”
Tiffany: “The puree is silky. This is a really nice play on surf ‘n turf.”
Joe: “This is the kind of dish that I would go through and then lick the plate at the end with a piece of bread.”
Tkaiya (Americas)
Dish: Escovitch Fish with Festival and Coconut Cream Rice
Gordon: “It really is elevated. The fish is cooked beautifully. The festival needs some more moisture, but it’s good.”
Tiffany: “Skin is crispy — seasoned well. The rice has beautiful flavor.”
Joe: “I love the spice and the contrasts of flavors and textures on my palate. Great job.”
Winner
The winner of this challenge is Jaime. She will have immunity in the next challenge and the entire Asia-Pacific team is safe from tonight’s elimination.

Bottom Dishes
Nico (Europe)
Dish: Chicken Skewers with Pepperonata and Polenta
Gordon: “The chicken skin is nice and crispy, but you cut it so small that it’s dried out.”
Tiffany: “It looks like a watch party where the budget was real tight.”
Joe: “There must be 30 grams of chicken on the whole plate. It’s nothing.”
Peter (Africa)
Dish: Piri-Piri-Spiced Ribeye with Fondant Potatoes, Plantain Chips, and Buka Stew Dip
Gordon: “The dish looks good! The steak is cooked beautifully.”
Tiffany: “The sauce, chips, and dips is fun. It doesn’t feel right for you to be [in the bottom] but it is what it is.”
Joe: “This should have never been in the Bottom 3. Thank you.”
Maria (Americas)
Dish: Flank Steak with Vinaigrette Brazilian Salad, Turmeric Mushrooms, and Mashed Potatoes
Gordon: “It looks sad. It’s unfinished. The flank steak is overcooked and that mashed potato is like my granddad’s wallpaper glue.”
Tiffany: “The salad is tasty. The mushrooms have some flavor.”
Joe: “This would be a great dish for me to eat if I was in a Brazilian hospital.”
Elimination
The judges decided to eliminate Nico from the competition.
Addressing the home cook from Team Europe, Gordon says, “You came into this competition and blew us all away. Being the youngest in the competition is a big issue in terms of your experience. However, you’re clearly born to cook.”

“I’m definitely disappointed,” Nico says afterward. “I really came in knowing I was going to win this whole thing. This competition ended up being a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. Coming up short tonight makes me feel quite disappointed in myself. Obviously it’s a letdown to not win, but I’m still going to pursue my food dreams. I’m leaving today super excited for what my future holds.”
Next time
MasterChef is taking a time out while the FIFA World Cup airs on Fox. The competition will resume in the coming weeks — stay tuned!
