In 2022, Colman Domingo won an Emmy Award for guest-starring on the second season of HBO‘s psychological drama series. Four years later, he is rising in Gold Derby’s Emmy odds for the long-awaited third and final season.
Domingo made waves in the series finale, “In God We Trust,” for reprising his role as Ali Muhammed, aka Martin McQueen, the sponsor and mentor of recovering addict Rue Bennett (Zendaya). After Rue is deliberately given fentanyl instead of percocet by her crime-lord employer, Alamo Brown (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), she dies of an overdose. Ali avenges Rue’s death by gunning down Alamo in a Western-style showdown, and then makes a pilgrimage to the Texas farmstead where she found peace in her final months.
“Let her memory be a blessing,” Ali proclaims, as a beaming visage of Rue replies, “Amen.” As the credits rolled, Zendaya is heard in voiceover uttering Euphoria‘s final line: “May God bless us all.”

Domingo has surged 23% in the Gold Derby prediction data since HBO announced he is campaigning in the Best Drama Guest Actor category. Expect those numbers to rise ahead of the July 8 nominations announcement, particularly as more people catch up with Euphoria‘s last chapter.
The guest-actor lineup is projected to include Domingo’s co-star, the late Eric Dane (87%), as well as Slow Horses‘ Jonathan Pryce (93%), The Pitt‘s Jeff Kober (91%), Pluribus‘ Jeff Hiller (80%), The Diplomat‘s Bradley Whitford (78%), and The Boys‘ Giancarlo Esposito (48%).

Gold Derby reported on Monday that HBO is submitting six guest stars for the 2026 Emmys: Domingo, Dane, and Sam Trammell in Best Drama Guest Actor; and Danielle Deadwyler, Priscilla Delgado, and Alanna Ubach in Best Drama Guest Actress. See the entire Euphoria slate.
Backstage after his 2022 Emmy win for Euphoria, Domingo told Gold Derby, “I have amassed the most incredible following, in particular, of young women. … I think that I’ve become sort of a father or big brother figure. They really see me as someone that they need in their lives.”
That passionate fan sentiment is undoubtedly why writer-director Sam Levinson chose Ali as the person that would seek justice on behalf of Rue — and viewers at large— following her untimely death in the series finale.
Beyond Euphoria, Domingo is in the Emmy discussion this year for Netflix’s The Four Seasons (Best Comedy Supporting Actor) as well as NBC’s Saturday Night Live (Best Comedy Guest Actor). He’s a triple threat! Last year, he stood apart from the rest of his Four Seasons cast by being the show’s sole Emmy representative. Domingo is also a two-time Oscar nominee for his big-screen roles in Rustin (2023) and Sing Sing (2024).
