One of the most talked-about doctors on social media is taking her fight straight to Washington, DC!
Dr. Elisabeth Potter, the Texas surgeon who exploded online a while back after publicly calling out UnitedHealthcare over what she claimed was interference with patient care, just brought that same fiery energy to Capitol Hill last last week. And judging by the reaction, people are definitely listening.

The physician appeared outside Congress a few days ago as part of the bipartisan “Healthcare is Human” rally, where hundreds of healthcare workers (and actor Noah Wyle!) gathered to demand major changes in the medical system. The event focused on the growing burnout crisis facing doctors and nurses, along with staffing shortages and the emotional toll healthcare workers have been carrying for years now.
But let’s be real — Dr. Potter’s ongoing battle with UnitedHealthcare is what really put her in the national spotlight.
Her emotional and very public criticism of the insurance giant struck a nerve with people across the country over the past year, especially patients frustrated with insurance red tape and healthcare workers who feel trapped inside an increasingly broken system. She has become something of an unexpected viral figure, with supporters praising her for speaking out so bluntly about issues many medical professionals are often afraid to discuss publicly.
At the rally, Dr. Potter pushed for reforms that would support healthcare workers through expanded mental health resources and tax credits aimed at easing some of the pressure facing the profession. And honestly? The crowd seemed completely behind her message.
