Tim Robinson will be on this year’s Emmy ballot four times for The Chair Company, Gold Derby has learned exclusively.

Robinson is being submitted by HBO as an executive producer (alongside many others), a lead actor (for playing amateur sleuth William Ronald “Ron” Trosper), a screenwriter (for penning the pilot script with Zach Kanin), and a songwriter (for the original tune “Red Ball Market Global”).

The multi-hyphenate, who rose to fame on Saturday Night Live, already has three Emmy Awards to his name for producing and starring in the short-form series I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson.

The Chair Company tells the story of Ron, an office drone at a property development firm, who inexplicably unravels a conspiracy theory about a chair manufacturer. He’s married to Barb (Lake Bell) and they have two kids, Natalie (Sophia Lillis) and Seth (Will Price). Ron gets a little help in his investigation from Mike (Joseph Tudisco), and his co-workers include Jeff (Lou Diamond Phillips), Douglas (James Downey), and Jamie (Glo Tavarez).

The Diplomat. (L to R) Rufus Sewell as Hal Wyler, Keri Russell as Kate Wyler

All eight episodes of the high-concept comedy series aired last fall on HBO. To date, the program has received nominations at the Writers Guild of America, American Cinema Editors, and Gotham TV Awards.
