The Emmy submissions list for the final season of The Boys is a who’s-who of Hollywood.
Gold Derby has exclusively learned that Prime Video is entering 28 cast members for Emmy consideration, including Samuel L. Jackson as the voice of a shark named Xander; Seth Rogen, Kumail Nanjiani, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Will Forte as satirical versions of themselves; and former Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, all of whom recently reunited.
The five leading performers up for bids are Antony Starr as Homelander, Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, and Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko Miyashiro.
The 10 supporting cast members are Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk, Tomer Capone as Frenchie, Chace Crawford as The Deep, Jessie T. Usher as A-Train, Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir, Daveed Diggs as Oh Father, Ackles as Soldier Boy, Susan Heyward as Sister Sage, Colby Minifie as Ashley, and Valorie Curry as Firecracker.
Last year’s surprise Emmy nominee Giancarlo Esposito returns to the ballot as Stan Edgar. The remaining guest-star submissions are Padalecki as Mr. Marathon, Collins as Malchemical, Morgan as Joe Kessler, John Noble as Sam Butcher, Paul Reiser as The Legend, Cameron Crovetti as Ryan Butcher, and Elisabeth Shue as Madelyn Stillwell, plus the aforementioned Rogen, Nanjiani, Mintz-Plasse, and Forte.

Finally, Jackson is up for his voice-over performance in the show’s penultimate episode. “His voice as the shark steals the whole scene,” Crawford recently told Gold Derby about his fin-tastic co-star. “It was really enjoyable for me.” Jackson is a former Emmy nominee for producing Afro Samurai: Resurrection in 2009; he took home an Honorary Oscar in 2022.
The series finale, titled “Blood and Bone,” is eligible for writing (Judalina Neira and David Reed) and directing (Sgriccia). “I find this show hopeful, and hope is possible,” showrunner Eric Kripke told Gold Derby after the last episode aired. “But it’s really hard, and it requires great sacrifice, and it requires astounding amounts of failure before you can get to success.”
