Best New Shows and Movies Coming to Netflix This Week
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (Season 2)
Coming to Netflix: Wednesday
Emma Myers is officially back on the case! Following the smash-hit success of the first season, which became a massive global hit for Netflix and BBC iPlayer, the highly anticipated second season of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder premieres this Wednesday. This time around, as Max Hastings’ trial approaches, key witness Jamie Reynolds suddenly disappears, and Pip Fitz-Amobi finds herself in a desperate race against time to find him. As we noted in our comprehensive preview, this new mystery will push Pip further away from the “good girl” she once was.
Dead Man’s Wire (2025)
Coming to Netflix: Thursday
We’ve got some good news for those waiting to catch Gus Van Sant’s critically acclaimed hostage thriller on streaming. Based on a wild true story from 1977, Dead Man’s Wire features a brilliant performance from Bill Skarsgård as Tony Kiritsis, a disgruntled man who takes a corrupt mortgage broker hostage by wiring a loaded shotgun to the man’s neck. What follows is an intense 63-hour standoff broadcast live across the country.
If you missed this tense 70s-era drama during its theatrical run earlier this year, check out our full release details and buckle in for an absolute wild ride.
Brazil ’70: The Third Star (Limited Series)
Coming to Netflix: Friday
Sports fans are eating incredibly well this week (with other original docs dropping for Rafa Nadal, Vinnie Jones, and Emi Martínez!), but our top pick has to be this fictionalized deep dive into the legendary 1970 Brazilian World Cup squad.
Produced by the acclaimed O2 Filmes (City of God), this miniseries captures the emotional journey of the “Saga do Tri.” Set against the harshest phase of Brazil’s military dictatorship, the series balances the on-field brilliance of icons like Pelé and Carlos Alberto with the immense off-field pressure of a nation at a political crossroads. Catch our first look at the miniseries here before diving in this weekend.
