Disney is bringing back summer vacation entertainment with in-person and streaming events, starting next week and through the summer, with the return of Disney+ and Hulu Throwbacks.
Disney is celebrating summer and bringing Hulu into the fun with curated content, throwback shows and movies from the 90s and 2000s, and an interactive popup event.
The popup event, That’s So Mall-Stagia, will take place at Westfield Century City Mall in Los Angeles on June 6 from 12p.m. to 7 p.m. ad June 7 from 11a.m. to 7 p.m. The event will include a mystery pin machine, photo lab, throwbacks fountain, and Mac Pro beauty salon, along with photo-worthy moments featuring nostalgic Disney scenes.
The Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Podcast will bring fans an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at fan favorite titles including High School Musical, Cheetah Girls, and Camp Rock. The podcast will be hosted by Sherry Cola and Cierra Ramirez.
The Throwbacks Stream returns to screens on May 22 when premium subscribers will get access to an all-day marathon of the top 50 Disney Channel Original Movies. Subscribers can also find throwback content on demand to celebrate the 20th anniversary of titles like High School Musical, Hannah Montana, The Devil Wears Prada, and Ugly Betty.
The Brave Little Toaster and the first two seasons of The Weekenders will be added to Disney+ on May 25. Following those releases, Disney+ is finally releasing sequels to two favorite 2000s Disney titles with Camp Rock 3 and Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.
Finally eligible subscribers can enjoy Disney+ Perks Summer Fridays, which launches on June 5 with special perks, plus new and interactive quizzes to earn themed badges.
