Harlan Coben’s Myron Bolitar series gets big filming update fans were waiting for

Harlan Coben’s long-awaited Myron Bolitar series adaptation at Netflix is finally starting to take shape, as a new production update is giving fans their clearest idea yet of when the series could begin filming and wrap up.

According to What’s on Netflix, the news outlet has learned from the reputable industry-tracking site Production Weekly that the new Netflix series is currently expected to begin filming in July 2026. Production Weekly reported that the exact start date is July 20, 2026. But that’s not all!

As reported by What’s on Netflix, Production Weekly also shared that the cameras will stop rolling on Myron Bolitar on Nov. 6, 2026. Regarding filming locations, the report indicates that production is expected to be based in New York and New Jersey. If you’re a fan of the Myron Bolitar book series, you’d know that much of the story is deeply rooted in New Jersey, where Myron lives and runs his sports agency.

Of course, this filming update marks a significant step forward for the project, which was just officially greenlit a week ago. However, it’s worth noting that the Myron Bolitar series adaptation was initially believed to have been ordered by Netflix way back in October 2022.

It’s also worth mentioning that Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed this rumored production timeline. That said, we’ll just have to wait for official confirmation from the streamer before taking these dates as set in stone. But as it stands, the update still provides the most detailed look yet at how the series may be rolling out behind the scenes.

Everything else to know about Harlan Coben’s Myron Bolitar series

Beyond the latest filming window report, there’s been growing momentum behind Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Coben’s long-running book franchise. The Myron Bolitar novels follow Myron, a former NBA prospect whose career is cut short by injury. This forces him into an unexpected new life as a sports agent. But while Myron’s professional world revolves around managing athletes and navigating the high-pressure sports industry, he repeatedly finds himself pulled into murder investigations and dangerous criminal conspiracies that extend far beyond the court.

What makes this adaptation especially notable is that it marks one of the most ambitious entries in Netflix’s ongoing partnership with Coben. The streamer has already adapted several of his standalone thrillers into successful limited series, but Myron Bolitar represents something different. It represents a recurring character with a multi-book storyline that could potentially support multiple seasons.

Behind the scenes, the series is also backed by a high-profile creative team. Emmy winner David E. Kelley, known for acclaimed dramas such as Big Little Lies, is attached alongside Suits writer Kyle Long, with the pair serving as writers, executive producers, and co-showrunners. Greg Yaitanes, an experienced television director, is also attached to the project as a director and executive producer. Additionally, other executive producers include Coben, Matthew Tinker, and Rick Muirragui.

However, no actors have been attached to the series yet, meaning fans are still waiting to learn who will ultimately step into the role of Myron Bolitar. Given how beloved the character is among readers, casting will likely become one of the most closely watched aspects of the adaptation as development continues.

With a rumored production timeline of July through November 2026, we could be looking at a potential release for Myron Bolitar on Netflix sometime in the latter half of 2027. There’s just no way we’ll see it by the end of 2026 or the top of 2027. Following production, the episodes will then spend a good amount of time in post-production. That’s why we think a later 2027 release window makes the most sense right now.

But again, this is just speculation. We should have a better idea of when Myron Bolitar could hit Netflix once production officially begins and the streaming giant starts sharing more concrete updates about the series.

In the meantime, we’ll just have to get ready for Coben’s newest Netflix show, I Will Find You. This highly anticipated thriller series is scheduled to be released on Netflix on June 18, 2026.
